Tap sometime in mid to late January 2013. Pours brown to dark brown with a small creamy beige head. The aroma and flavor have some dark chocolate, roasted malts with some nice herbal and earthy hops as well. Interesting combination of hops and roast without going the black IPA route. yespr (45508) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUN 23, 2013
From tap at Ginger Man. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted malty and caramelish to light breadish. Medium sweet, light fruity and toasted malty. Mild bitter and toasted malty finish. Tmoney99 (14501) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 29, 2013
Tap snifter. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt and small earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted malt bittersweet flavor with a medium complex dark malt bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex brew. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2013
10oz on tap at Cock & Bull. Thin head, more of an off-white / greyish tan color. More bitter taste. Decent lace. Clear very dark color. More of a red hue. Medium body. Toasty malts. Some chocolate. Moderate carbonation, with more of a pronounced texture than I’m used to from Oskar Blues. Dry texture all the way through, no silkiness at all in this body. Prominent bitter herbal hop, definite above average hop levels here. Interesting porter in how bitter and hoppy it is, but personally it’s not exactly what I’m looking for in a porter. b3shine (8878) - Indiana, USA - JAN 17, 2013
Draft to snifter. Looks good; an opaque brownish-black with foamy beige head. Smells good too; chocolate and malt with a touch of roast. Tastes like it smells with a touch of hops and a nice, silky mouthfeel. An excellent example of the style.
