COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ten FIDY’s huge-but-comforting flavors hide a hefty 10.0% and 98IBU. This version is aged in whiskey barrels from Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey (Denver, CO) to create an even trippier extreme beer.

Thanks to AZ via SpeedwayJim...Black pour, about three fingers of really nice tan head rises quickly and looks really nice at first, however it falls really quickly leaving no cap. Light lacing. Such promise to start, but to no avail...Unreal aroma, a wonderful sweet maple syrup dominates this, its as if maple syrup was dumped in it, light vanilla. Way on the sweet side, would love a little chocolate or coffee...The taste is not as successful, mostly because it just feels flat and light, needs to be full flavored. The maple syrup is gone, a little vanilla, alcohol...Easy to drink.

This is a beer worth trying for real. Another great Oskar beer.

Big vanilla and whiskey aroma. Caramel, and Hershey’s syrup and fudge in the flavor. Actually a slightly lighter body than regular Ten Fidy. Not quite as sweet and syrupy as the original with a nice powdered cocoa in the finish.

growler pour. Pitch black with a light head. Great whiskey aroma and flavor. This one did real well in the barrels.

Growler courtesy of Cesar. Let me begin by saying I like the regular version much better. In my opinion it’s like Oskar Blues used a cheap crappy whiskey that instead of adding to the great flavors of the base beers actually distorted them.

On Tap at Oskar Blues Brewery, Longmont 15/09/2010 (As Ten Fidy Barrel Aged)
Big roast aroma. Black strong in alcohol and hoppy with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a coffee roast finish.

Sampled Pre-sex. Bottle was from CBX. Thin pour, which I found rather odd being im a big fan of the base beer. Bourbon chocolate nose. Flavor was thin, buttery, slick finish.

GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 31, 2011
Sampled @Pre-Sex 2011. The pour was a flat, inky black with lots of staining going on around the glass. Aroma is 100% diacetyl with classic buttered popcorn notes and just a little bit of vanilla and barrel character trying to squeeze out. Taste adds lemon tartness and continues with giant diacetyl butteriness. Coating, buttery mouthfeel. Very poor and just riddled with classic brewing flaws.

emacgee (4708) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - JAN 30, 2011
Shared at Pre-Sex. Pours inky black with one finger of chestnut brown head. Nose is big on the barrel, notes of vanilla, tannic oak, and alcohol. Rough around the edges. Flavor shows sharp oak and whiskey with some bakers chocolate and alcohol. Palate is sharp and warm.

Draft at PP Barrel Blast 2010. Black pour, small tan head, pretty standard. Chocolate, slick and oily, earthy malt, oak, and whiskey. A fine BA imperial stout, but it wasn’t doing much for me at the time.

Co-rate! Draft at Barrel Blast. Black, dark brown head. Boozy aroma, taste is oily chocolate with prominent whiskey. Does not improve on the original, unfortunately.
