From can into pint glass. A: strong dark chocolate, lots of chocolate and coffee malt, and smell of rich alcohol. App: the darkest, most inky beer I have ever poured. With a one finger very dark tan head. T: dyingStrong alcohol on the front, hints of chocolate and coffee. Back is solid alcohol with very mild hints of coffee the chocolate malts. P: very subtle bubbles, but very, very creamy and smooth with a medium-length aftertaste of alcohol.
Pours a deep dark brown color. Small tan head head that lasted throughout. Aromas of bourbon and wood. Flavor was a lot of bourbon, hints of smoke, chocolate. Full bodied and creamy. Tasted more bourbon than beer. WOW, this is a flavorful beer!! ryanfolty (2553) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - OCT 24, 2014

Tap at the BTBF. The look is dark, big tan head, and dark black in color. The smell is wood, great, alcohol, raisins, fruit, sugar, bourbon, and barrels. The taste is roast, rich, complex, dark fruits, wood, whiskey, and so good. Mjp12 (1871) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 22, 2014
Wow, a supreme beer, the whiskey aroma is intense, but a glassful of complex flavours mellows the taste. A luxurious, world class beer.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. This version was aged in a Breckenridge bourbon barrel. Pours near black with a modest tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a rich dark molasses flavor with a dry finish and a warm alcohol trail. A nice sipper.
