4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can into pint (from my notes): Pours like motor oil, head slowly emerges; interesting sliding racing/lacing. Smells like creamy, buttery, roasty chocolate, with other caramelly malts in there, and occassionally a fruity smell that reminds me of raspberries. Full and smooth in the mouth like Bells Expedition, and tastes like it at first but . . . then the hops and roastiness kick in on the end, and wow; they’re amazing. Full, kick-your-ass flavor -- this is the hoppiest stout I can remember tasting. I don’t even know how it tastes like this with the high gravity and creamy mouthfill, the amount of hops they must have used. The finish totally eliminates the saliva in my mouth in dry and bitter goodness. Overall, while the wallop of this beer is impressive, it got taxing to finish it. A good can of beer to share with friends, because you could use the help.
RIS strong by its basic ingredients, this is what I like. Roast, bitterness, chocolate and only a hint of alcohol. A classic RIS I’d say. PlutonowyMan (825) - Baardegem, BELGIUM - SEP 16, 2017
Kolor czarny, smolisty, totalnie nieprzejrzysty. Piana brązowa, bardzo wysoka i trwała. Pozostawia sporo zdobień. Jeśli chodzi o wygląd to piwo prezentuje się wzorcowo.
Aromat wyśmienity, jest likierowo kawowy, słodki z owocowym kręgosłupem.
Smak to kolejna bomba. Wyśmienita paloność, gorzka, mocna kawa, trochę likieru kawowego i sporo ciemnych owoców. Goryczka wysoka i intensywna świetnie balansuje likierową słodycz.

Dark beige rocky head stayed on a jet black still body.
Malt, charcoal, coal, burnt embers & dark chocolate aroma.
Full bodied, oily, velvety & smooth.
The taste is amazing - burnt embers, dark chocolate, demerara, slightly smoked, sweet black coffee & dark spirits. Sissio (1700) - Orsenigo, ITALY - SEP 5, 2017

Can thanks to Wombat23. Pours black and viscous. The light brown head collapses into a thin, creamy layer. Aroma is a mix of ink, coffee, chocolate. Taste is bitter, almost acrid going into the finish. Body is light thick and heavy, carbonation is mild, alcohol is well disguised. Good, but not among my top Imp Stouts.

Draught @ Dunkbar, Odense. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy dark tan head. Clear aroma of malt, chocolate and roast, with dark, fruity hints. Bitter, roasty flavour with unobtrusive sweetish notes of malt, caramel and raisins, and touches of dark chocolate. Lingering, roasty and coffeelike aftertaste with estery notes. Warming alcohol presence. Potent, well-balanced and very good. A great beer. gyhallmanti (593) - Groningen, NETHERLANDS - AUG 31, 2017

Served with creamy dessert. Good beer, but not the best imp stout at all! I expected more! Its a little bit like North Coast Old Rasputin / or Great Divide Yeti imp stout. First expression - fantastic aroma, then the aroma went out of the can?!?! I think this beer is overrated like many beers in ratebeer.com. Aroma is chocolately, nice cherry-fruity choco, coffee, maltz, sweety aroma. Taste is bitter, hoppy - i dont like hops in imp stout (its not ipa). It is really near to the north coast and great divide. But I didnt like North Coast Old Rasputin fresh served. It was not so good, was like Ten Fidy. Then I left bottles for age. Then it was far away better and I gave bonus points to it in ratebeer.com. Same may be to Ten Fidy, but I cannot leave an Aluminium Can with beer in it for age. Its not good at all for the beer, drink it as soon as possible when in cans!!! So the points here to this beer will be lower. Balanced, but still a little bit boozy. After taste - a little bit sour.

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2017 Can at home. Pours a thick black colour, big beige creamy head with great retention. Bitter roasted malty cacao and espresso, leather, later come in vanilla, butterscotch, red fruits, alcoholic warmth. Big body, low-medium carbonation, soft mouthfeel. 12oz can at home. Pours thick black with dark brown edges and full light brown head and good lacing. Smells great - deep roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Flavors are rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, some burnt molasses, vanilla, more roasted malt. Full bodied with a thick, oily texture. Delicious, lingering roasty, chocolate finish. Great stuff, a favorite.
