draft at OB in lyons. Not sure if it was the same, but there it was a smoked porter called "High Grade Smoke." Pours deep brown with tiny tan head, a ring around the glass. Smells like roast, slight chocolate, and smoked meat, i.e pork. However, the smoke aspect here is rather restrained compared to some other smoke beers. Flavor of roast and chocolate, with the smoke coming through on the finish. Like every OB dark beer, velvety, silky smooth mouth feel. Ratman197 (15628) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JAN 24, 2010
On tap at O.B. Homemade Liquids and Solids poured a cleasr dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of smoke, bitter chocolate, roastiness, vanilla and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of smoke, dark chocolate, light vanilla and light roastiness with a smooth dry lingering smokey finish.
