madvike (3293) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 25, 2014
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2014 On tap at the Tap House - Pours mahogany with ruby highlights and a tan ring of head. Nose is oddly minty, with peat, a bit of sweet booziness, and earthy malt. The mint is really weird though and throws me off. Taste is sweet and minty with boozy warmth, real peaty and malty with a bit of a bitter finish. Gentle carbonation on a medium body.
Update (prev score 2.9) - Way smoother than last time without the mint and really nicely integrated barrel.
