4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is dark fruits and a bit of booze. Very thin light head with minimal lacing. Pours a very dark brown. Not the flavor bomb I expected given it’s an imperial porter with coffee and vanilla, but damn is this nice. Definitely serve this at cellar temp, it’s WAY better as it warms from the fridge. Their claim of this beer being "masterfully blended" is not a false one. Light vanilla flavors give way to subtle coffee notes. Great balance; no flavor is overpowering. There is a solid imperial porter background but again, not pronounced. While I typically like in your face beers, this one still impresses me. Mouthfeel is thin, easy to drink with very little carbonation. Overall a great beer, in my opinion.
Bottle at home. Pours black, near opaque, with a medium, frothy tan head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is heavy chocolate, toast and cookie malt with medium earthy and woody hops, dates and spicy, chocolate coffee. Flavor is smooth spicy and chocolate coffee, heavy chocolate, toast and cookie malt with medium earthy hops and bitterness, dates and a lightly sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation. slowrunner77 (12037) - Reno, Nevada, USA - FEB 14, 2017

Bottle. Black with a medium sized light brown head with ok lace and regeneration. The nose is dominated by earthy coffee and chocolate. The flavour has coffee, dark wood, chocolate and light vanilla. Soft texture, full body, medium sweet and bitter. I was surprised when I found out that it was 10.5% as the alcohol doesen’t show at all. A bit thin and one tracked on coffee, but drinks too easy. anders37 (26605) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 1, 2016

ABV: 10.2%. Clear and sparkling, dark black color with a average, frothy, lacing, fully diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dusty, coffee, moderate chocolate, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, vanilla, dark malt, coffee, dusty coffee, very smooth and balanced. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft - lively (think it is one of the must lively imp. porters - stouts i had that have not been infected). Very nice smooth and balanced :)
Delicious, malty and sweet, vanilla latte on the finish, black as pitch, and syrupy. Delicious
