Tap at Mars Cheese Castle. Light golden pour with a one finger white head. Citrussy hop aroma and flavor. Hop forward, could be an IPA. Good mouthfeel and a nice accompaniment to the grilled chicken sandwich. Very tasty would definitely get another in the rupture. bytemesis (8223) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber orange with a large white had that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine resin, and a touch of caramel. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet with a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Quite nice, actually. stuckinprague (43) - - OCT 22, 2012
Aroma: Light and floral.
Appearance: Brown with a dissipating head.
Taste: Very nice flavours. Citrus upfront, a touch of caramel malt from the Crystal and Munich and backed up by a floral hop flavour and bitterness.
Palate: Typical of pale ale, good session beer.
Overall: Good as most pale ales, the hop flavour is fairly unique and the floral flavours come through strongly with citrus notes. I like this beer.... but I’m a big fan of APA’s. Ratman197 (14668) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - SEP 24, 2012
Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of biscuit, pine, grapefruit and light tangerine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, pine, light grapefruit and a hint of tangerine with a smooth dry lightly bitter finish. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - SEP 13, 2012
12oz bottle poured into a Surly pint glass. I picked this one up on my recent trip to the Motherland.
Pours a dark rusty amber with barely a sheet of lace on top. The nose is a little musty with notes of wood, green veggies, and malt. This fades out to a sweet syrup like aroma that is quite pleasant though. There’s a good amount of bubbles bolstering this beer. Good creamy smooth finish, but a tad drying.
The hops in this beer aren’t all that juicy and flavorful, though they do impart a good amount of bitterness. Biscuity malt with a lack of residual sweetness. This is a dry, bitter beer, that is decent, but not all that refreshing. I probably wouldn’t reach for this one again, as there are scores of better options of this style out there.

On tap at the Wisconsin State Fair. Pours an unclear orange brown with a decent head. Aroma has bitter grapefruit, sweet caramel and some earthiness. Taste is of citrusy caramel. Bittersweet. Somewhat syrupy that got a bit cloying. Finishes bittersweet, and progressively more bitter. I was a bit disappointed when I thought it was an IPA, but as a pale, it provided a solid body with some hoppiness. kaser (6213) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 29, 2012
Amber draft at cheese castle. Sticky off white head. Good fruity aroma. Malty and bitter taste but not over powering. Went into this expecting little and was somewhat surprised. Would have again

Mild aroma. Amber in color. Somewhat cloudy from bottle conditioning. Piney and slightly earthy taste. Pleasant and not too bitter. Some maltiness and caramel on the finish. bconch (408) - - MAR 12, 2012
From old notes. Bottle. Decent hops
on the nose and the taste but the finish was almost too pale. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Bottle pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma shows buttered toffee, apples, and light grass. Flavor shows the same with a grainy, bready malt profile. Overall body is light to moderate and the finish is lightly bitter.
