The second you open this bottle there is no mistaking that this is not your average IPA. Massive hop additions of the most obnoxious breeds put this taste bud burner in a league all it’s own. Our bet is that you will think it is O’so Freakishly good! Caution! This brew is 9% and may contain a hop cone in every bottle (2009 to present vintages) ! We want to make sure to repeat this reminder that we put a hop cone in the bottle. Always pour into a glass to release the essence from the bottle.

2008 Edition: 22-oz bottle
2009 Edition: 12-oz bottles w/hop cone in bottle
2010 - 2013 Editions: 12-oz bottles w/Hop Warning label

(StLCoB tasting) amber. Rich hops aroma. Flavor is resiny hops, OK malt backbone

Liquor and hop aroma is nice, but strong caramel taste takes away from the hops and the 9% alc seems to really stand out; much more than it should. Drinkable, but I’ll probably not purchase again with so many better DIPAs out there.

12/26/13. On tap at Against the Grain. Orange pour with a small khaki head. Plain aroma, not overtly hoppy, earthy, floral, orange peel, some malty aspects, especially caramel. Malty flavor again, earthy and floral hops, some citrus, too much caramel. Another average Oso brew.

Copper pour with decent foam. Smells of sticky sweet hops. Tastes great. Nice sweet malt and hop bitterness balance. Notes of pineapple, loads of hops, caramel. Very good to great.

12oz bottle from jmagnus thanks to his donation raffle box. Poured a muddy amber with a larger frothy off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, resiny hops, wet breads, wet toast, rotting oranges. Medium to slightly fuller bodied, average to slightly softer carbonation, average bitterness on the finish, linginering chalky aftertaste. Flavor of older orange meat, some pulp, caramel, wet toast, hop resin, molasses and dry cardboard. Lots going on here but tastes a little older, solid none the less.

Cloudy golden copper pour with a thin white head and light sticky lacing .... aroma of caramel malts and floral piney hops .... taste is of chewy caramel malts and bitter hops with a piney and citrusy orange to it with a fresh floral hop .... has a oily hop mouthfeel .... a bit off flavor wise but a neat change of pace IPA

Dark Hazy Orange with a filmy head, good lacing and low amount of carbonation. Aroma and flavor consist of citrus hops, apricot, mango, caramel malts. Heavy body and moderate carbonation. Pretty good

Such a sweet enticing caramelly scent, it threw me off since it’s a dipa. Very intriguing and addictive flavor profile. I can’t quite pin it down, but it makes me happy as my nose and then lips near the glass. Weird? Maybe, but that’s how it goes. Recommended for a less(or more?)-than-usual experience.

Bottle, with hop cone :-) Pour is orange amber with silky write head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is big pine, citrus, grapefruit, resin, sweetness, light grain. Taste is potent pine, resin, grapefruit, lemon, light sweet and sour, toasted grain, and builds into more pine. Medium body and medium light carbonation. Bitterness fills out, very tasty.

12 oz. bottle intenionally containing a large hop cone, consumed on 8-1-13. Sweet aroma features caramel, toffee, lemon, lemon rind, orange, orange rind, cinnamon, salt, and coriander scents. Also a hint of urine in the smell. Strong aroma but sweeter than I would prefer. Pours a clear copper with a large amount of long-lasting, thick, creamy taupe head. Produces good lacing. Sweet, mineral-y taste features lemon and salt elements. Dry and hoppy in the finish. Also cookie in the finish and aftertaste. Hops seem to have disippated since I purchased this beer in February 2013. Soft in the palate. Light liveliness. Light to medium body. Forgettable overall if not for the hop cone.
