Imperial Kvass! Sweet malty bready aroma, some quite walnutty aspects. Sweet palate, a bit heavy. Walnuts and bread and sweetness in the taste. Nut papery finish too. A bit raw, to be honest, but decent enough for a bock fan like myself.

Pours clear dark mahogany red color with a small head. Aroma its quite malty with loaf bread and caramel, mild dark berries. Flavor is dark malty and bready, ripe fruits, caramel sweetness, yeast and subtle spice notes on the finish. Full-bodied, malty bitter and a bit sweet. Nice.
Bottle 355ml (Ravintola Kirjakauppa). A bit murky brown color, small brownish head. Aroma of chocolate, bread, caramel and light veggie notes. Medium-bodied. Caramalt, bread, chocolate, maltyness. Sweetish and chocolaty so not so traditional doppelbock. Ok.

12 ounce bottle from Woodman’s in Janesville, WI, served at cellar temp in an Ayinger weizen glass, while watching "The Keys of Marinus". Big-bubbled luscious crème brulee head half-fills the glass, dissipating slowly above the hazy maple-molasses body....deep caramel malts in the nose, a hint of cigarette smoke, port, vanilla - it’s a beauty but it takes a while for it to really develp and bloom...body is very sweet with those caramelized malts, but the burnt and toasty character shows up quickly, drying things out and quickly edging to a finish that is slightly ashy, a touch alcoholic - reminiscent of a sweeter vodka, strangely - peppery and very long...body is full but not quite a rounded and deep as one might want in this style, carbonation appropriately strong but not fizzy. I guess it’s missing a few touches to make it a really great example, but it’s very solid and at least hits the minimum bar that I’d expect from these guys. Caramel, dark bread, vanilla aroma.
Taste is sweet, chocolate/raisin malt, a mild, earthy bittering.
Drinks pretty darn easy for the 8.5%......quite smooth.

, Tampere, Finland. Medium aroma with dark berries and toffee. Dark amber color with minimal light beige head and hazy liquid. Strong/medium taste with toffee, dark sugar, some dark berries. Averagely balanced with medium taste spectrum and medium/short aftertaste with a bit of malty toffee. Strong/medium body with low/medium carbonation. Overall, bit simple and lo-fi though nice taste.
