A rich and robust stout. The addition of black treacle gives intense depth and roasted malts impart a coffee flavour. Generous amounts of hops add a dry citrus finish to this complex black ale.

albertane (377) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2010
Cask at the Newshouse, Nottingham. A pleasantly sweet stout, perhaps a bit thin on the palate. I don’t normally like Ossett beers, but this one isn’t bad.

BeerCast_Rich (1906) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 20, 2010
[cask at Red Lion, York] Dark blackish brown pour, decent off-white head. Very thick and syrupy, aromas of dark treacle, molasses and brown sugar. Some malt aromas as well. Chewy on the palate, dark sweet malt with liquorice finish. Nice, but a half is about enough – good on a cold night though [28112010]
