Draught @ Osterbrau. Little bit cloudy, dark red colour, long-life white head, light watery body, light fizziness, no taste, no palate, no bitterness, small brother of the Osterbrau Barna. Good for drinking.

On tap. Reddish dark orange body, off-white head. Spicy grainy, malty aroma. Grainy, caramely and roasty malts in the flavor with a noticeable hoppyness. Nothing extra.

Wenig herber Malzantrunk, wässriger Mittelteil. Hier ist das Malz leicht röstig-bitter, erdig. Leider sind sie Aromen nicht ausgeprägt. Zu laff. 10/6/8/7//6

Had it on draft at „Osterbrau Söröző”, Bp. Clear amber pour with a medium sized white head, which remains filmy, carbonation is soft. Tasteing begins with a slick mouthfeel and the sweet-sourish aroma brings mainly caramel with herbal/dough notes along. The finish is dried fruity and toasty/spicy, which drains the palate adequately and leaves a fruity-spicy aftertaste behind. Good stuff, enjoyed it!

Pale amberish colour with small tan head. Fizzy and watery body. Nothing noticable in the aroma, just maybe some very-very slight hoppy notes.

Leggyengébb láncszeme a domonyi Osterbraunak.

Draught at the Osterbräu bar, Budapest.
Red/pale brown coloured, small creamy head. Quite vague taste. Light roasted malt, some caramel and almost nothing else. Unsuccessful attempt to brew red beer.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2011 Draught at the Osterbräu bar at Tölgyfa 12, Budapest. Clear ruby, creamy head. Roasty and fairly sweet. medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Bready and salty with dusty chewy malt. Finishes with good late bitterness. A solid, flavourful beer in a style of it’s own.

The name means red and the beer want to be an irish red. But it isn’t an ale, it was made by bottom fermentation. Dark brown, copper colour with a reddish accent. Toffeeish, smokey aroma with hints of dates and caramel, fine roasted tastes. Soft, smooth body. Hints of cherry, toffee, plus lots of demerara. Sweet and roasted aftertaste.
