Pours out of the bottle in a deep dark brown colour with low steady head and smooth body. Nice aroma of malt and barley. Taste of light roasted malt, torf, nuts, caramel, woods, dark berries and straw. Easy and nice to drink, a good and enjoyable beer.

MichaelAwesome (6519) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - APR 27, 2014

kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - MAY 4, 2012
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, dark, almost black, nice head. Starts mild, modest malty-dry, not too roasty. More and more malty with hints of chocolate. Finish well balanced, quite drinkable. Nice!

jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAY 30, 2006
Bottled, thanks to DerDoppelbock. Strong aroma of dark malts. Hazy, brown color, irregular beige head, fair lace. Light sweet, light bitter to bitter in the finish, roasted, dark caramel. Medium body and smooth. Very good example of the Dunkel style.

Flip-top litre bought in Leer, pours deep brown with a lasting thin head and light aromas of coffee and red fruit. Dry-dusty yet also fruity-sweet. Gentle grassy bitterness, hints of orange and berry fruit. Very drinkable.
