Bottle split at CBC Islington, thanks to Kenny, 29/11/17.
Black with a well presented tan cap.
Nose is light roast, spice, cinnamon, toffee, chocolate drops.
Taste comprises sweet brown sugar, toffee, fruit cake, cocoa powder, light spices, cinnabon buns, caramel.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced boost.
Ok impy but a touch overly sweet and lacking balance for me ... the ancho chilli didn't really come through that much for me. The_Osprey (10000) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 23, 2017
November 2017 - Tasting at CBC Islington. Can shared with big thanks to Nathan. As 'Other Half / J Wakefield Cane Life', 12%. Apparently the Bourbon + Cocoa + Cinnamon + Ancho version. Opaque black with a foamy brown head that leaves light lacing. Aroma is chocolate truffles, vanilla and mint. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is chocolate, After 8s, mint and menthol, some spearmint centre chocolate. Quite good on the whole. (8-4-8-3-16=3.9) mR_fr0g (14430) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2017

4 of 4 @ Rick’s cane life tasting. Pours deep brown black, tan head. Aroma is mole, cayenne, cinnamon, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is cane sugar, mole, chiles, cinnamon, vanilla bourbon. Not overtly spicy but it sneaks up on you and blends surprisingly well with the sweetness, liked this one the best of the Cane Life variants. markducommun (1232) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 14, 2017
Opaque mahogany, minimal head. Vanilla, sugar, maybe the slightest hint of green pepper. Very sweet, slightly bitter, maybe a touch of hotness. Cleaner body. Heavy. Long finish. Good. Leighton (23401) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2017
Bottle shared in Buffalo - thanks to drsandman. Pours deep brown with a thin, foamy tan head. The nose has mellow roast, toasted caramel, mint, a little earth. Medium sweet flavour, with light vanilla, understated dry cinnamon, bitter chocolate, low bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming fiinish, with more chocolate, light mint, cinnamon, vanilla pods. Good stuff. mansquito (7386) - Nueva York, New York, USA - MAR 18, 2017
From the brewery: pours pretty close to black with a dark beige head. Aroma is sugar, molasses, cinnamon. Tste is fairly sweet. Very spicy from the cinnamon and full of vanilla from the barrel. The ancho gives the beer a little kick from the bottom. Pretty good. rxeight (3344) - Illinois, USA - MAR 6, 2017
