3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
0,5l bottle. Pours in a very dark amber. Long lasting steady head. Malty sweet and burned on the nose. Starts smoother, first like Schwarzbier, followed by smoked malt on the second stage with a nice sweetness. Light liquor taste. Easy to drink. Rauchbier for beginners. Like it!
Dark brown with thin head. Aroma is smokey and a bit meaty. Flavour is similar but with a background malt sweetness. Idiosynkrasie (7952) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2017
330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, chestnut colour with small to average, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Beefy, smoky aroma, notes of smoked ham, hints of smoked eel, beech wood ashes. Taste is dry, smoky, minimally peaty, grassy and bitter hoppy overtones, hints of smoked ham. Slightly anaemic, lacks a bit of caramel malt support for a better integration and exposition of the smoky notes. A nice one, though.

By far the best Othmar beer. markschiedon (692) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 26, 2017
Drinking from a 33cl bottle.
In the aroma smoke malt, bacon.
The clear brown beer has a small off white head.
In the taste some sour, but the smoked bacon is topping that.

330ml bottle - thanks Martjoobolut!martjoobolut (5115) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 25, 2016
Very starchy aroma, wallpaper paste, but also a pleasant dry smokiness. Blandish sweet starchy malts too. Smooth sweet palate, OK carbonation. Finish is a bit smoky and sweet. Kinda rough rauch. Later it improves a bit, but the starch was big no-no.
