Smooth coffee aroma. Lively carbonation. Very refreshing, not too watery and with a burnt finish that any English stout would be proud of. Very well balanced and delicious.
Cask (St. Urho’s, Helsinki, Porter and Stout Days 2009)
Lovely coffee aroma. Jet black. A touch sweet and watery in the mouth. Some esters, but very subdued taste. OK roast, but needs filling out in the palate.
From bottle @ EBF 2008. Dark chocolate and even some porto in the aroma. Thinnish, but firm chocolate flavor. Notes of grapes. Good! KnutAlbert (6760) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 15, 2008

Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, burnt chocolate malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (020508)
Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2008. Is it a mild, or is it a stout. The brewery previously described it as a mild but has increased the ABV slightly and now calls it a stout. The festival programme, however, persists in describing it as a mild. If it’s a stout, it’s a distinctly thin stout. Dark red/black colour. Lots of roast and choc but not a lot else. No body at all. Weird. downender (8739) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2008
Bottle conditioned at a new ABV of 4.1%. Very dark brown with no head; completely opaque. Aroma of coffee and bitter chocolate. Initially a light mouth feel before roasted malt kicked in, finishing in a long bitter finish. Enjoyable. reakt (950) - Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2008
Cask @ Winter BF Manchester. Deep brown coloured. Nose and taste of roasty malt, coffee and chocolate, some fruityness. Quite simple yet effective. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2008
A Mes rate: Gravicask at Manc Winter Fest.
Rich dark brown colour. Dark malty aroma with some slight manure funk. Flavour has some chocolate, some coffee, some malt... yup, it’s mild. Lovely bitter notes on the finish with strong tobacco. An enjoyable mild.
