Cask @ CPK. The pour’s medium amber with a small orange-white head. The nose is of tree branch, some sweet malts, red fruit and spun brown sugar. The taste is caramelized orange rind, sweet nutty malts, nutmeg and toasted grain. Notes of baked brown bread and leafy dried hop. Medium body, smooth. Well-rounded if not unbelievably flavorful. Overall, pretty good.

(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 24 April 2016) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of peaches, apricots, nuts and slightly earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with apricots, citrus and a balanced earthy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bitter. Quite nice.

Cask @ Bricklayer’s Arms, Putney SW15. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramelfflavor with hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy caramel finish.

berkshirejohn (6585) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 27, 2014
Cask at the "Summer of Love" Festival at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Dark amber with a scummy white head; biscuity aroma; floury body with a crisp bitterness; and a lingering finish with a trace of caramel.

kwik-lime (1998) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2014
Cask at the Antelope in Surbiton. Quite low carbonation, grassy hops, forest fruits and caramel malt. Solid bitter.

mR_fr0g (12879) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 6, 2014
Cask gratify at the battersea beer fest. Golden orange pour with a loose white head. Aroma is subdued berry hedgerow hops with some caramel. Standardish bitter. Not a whole lot going on.

McNeillR (2327) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 8, 2013
Rusty orange with a slight haze. Light-white filmy head. Light caramel and ginger biscuit nose, no great shakes. Fairly insipid buttery initial taste; oily and soft carbonation. Uninspiring sweetness doesn’t help the metallic finish and stuttering malt tang on the linger. No for me.

Cask, York Tap [21/10/12]

cask at Belfast beer festival 2013
light brown, offwhite head, butterscotch nose. malt led, dull earthy malt, diacetyl and metallic bitterness. not nice.

Cask at Market Porter 24th January 2013. this is a little disapointing, nothing to distinguish it from any other light ale. OK

Essex (51) - Cardiff, WALES - JAN 5, 2013
Served on cask into a pint glass into a pub in Cardiff. Pours a hazy dark amber colour, which clears up slowly, fascinating to watch in fact. Smells pretty lightly malty with a hint of hoppiness. Tastes very "solid". Balanced hops and malts creating a refreshing and thirst quenching taste. Overall a lovely beer from a great brewery.

Theydon_Bois (20136) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2012
Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 29/12/12. Lightly hazed mid amber with a thin off white bubbly heaad. Nose is caramel malts, fruit, little hoppage. Taste carries more depth than the nose, caramel malt, dark fruits, candied sugars, touch of bread. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, smooth on the palate with some bitterness in the finish. A decent tasty bitter.
