COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Ottakringer Zwickl.

Tap. Pillowy white head on a murky yellow body. Grains, grass, biscuit malt, hay, some citrus and some yeast. Starts out lightly sweet, turns tart and lightly bitter. Medium creamy body with lively carbonation. Surprisingly good Zwickl out of Ottakring. Good drinkability.

On draught at L’Osteria while out with a couple of colleagues. The pour is a nice cloudy pale golden yellow with a thick and pillowy off white head and a good bit of lacing as it falls. The aroma is really interesting. There is a lot of bready malt and a good bit of graininess. There is a light fruitiness that isn’t too bad before the yeast makes its presence felt. The flavor is much of the same. Malty, light fruitiness, good grain and yeast character, but it’s surprisingly dry. It’s very quick and doesn’t leave anything that sticks around on the flavor. The mouth feel is light and clean with a surprising carbonation and a lingeringly sweet hop and malt combo on the finish. This is pretty interesting, and I’m glad I got to try it, having never heard of the brewer before.

On tap at Vienna airport. Not remarkable. Pretty flat beer which has nothing to tell you even it tries to look as something special.

I drank this beer at la Osteria, Wien Hauptbahnhof after a long walk through Vienna. In my point of view, it is a good keller bier, classical and refreshing. The body is a nice yellow, creamy and troubled. The carbonation is higher than usual, sparkling thin and white foam. The taste is malty, a side of butter and bubble, few note of banana, a bit herbal, few hop and a bit metalic.

Gezapft am Flughafen in Wien. Gelb, trüb, fester Schaum. Kein besonderes Aroma. Sehr leicht im Antrunk, etwas Zitrus, etwas Getreide im Hintergrund, recht erfrischend und lecker

Tap. Yellow and opaque with a full creamy head. Aroma is malty, with dough and straw, fruity with a light apple touch and a floral hint. Flavor is medium sweet with a nice bitter dry finish, well balanced and harmonic. Has a light body and is medium carbonated with crisp and sparkling mouthfeel. Taste is malty as well, dough and straw with good hoppy fruity and floral note. Leaves a light lasting floral aftertaste.
