On draught at L’Osteria while out with a couple of colleagues. It continues. The pour on this is a surprisingly bright amber gold color with a thick creamy white head as most of the beer in Graz seems to have. There is a good bit of soapy lace and a light bit of carbonation that continually releases. Not as dark or foggy as I was expecting. The aroma is definitely sweet malt. There is a light caramel and a hint of toasted breadiness. There is a light hop present, but it’s more of a floral aspect. The flavor is a little better. The sweetness balances out a bit more than I thought it would and the graininess doesn’t deter. There is a hint of metallic on this one, but it’s not anything like I was expecting. The mouth feel is light and crisp with a sharper carbonation and a lingeringly malty finish. Not what I was expecting for an amber lager going into it. Lahev (těším se...!) Deep golden, clear, medium-sized stable and lacy off-white head; mild sweetish-bitter nose of lightly toasted caramelly malt, even milder herbal hoppy background; soft bitter-sweet flavour, nearly medium bodied, pretty soft; slightly lingering caramelly-bitter finish. An inoffensive, but well made Bier... smau33 (79) - - MAY 4, 2017
