Cask at the Bull and Blacksmith, Chillington, Devon. Pale gold with a white head. Very light but rather sharp citrus flavour. Overall another dull, pointless golden ale.

Cask handpull at The Crosse Keys London as ’Otter Bright’, 4.3%. Pale golden yellow, very yellow, still and clear, bright you could say, with a small foamy beige head that leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is a bit sweaty, prawns and seaweed, light sulphur. Some citrusy notes but definite rock pool. Wondered if I was given a dirty glass but wiped rim and dodgy aroma endured and was gone when I finished the beer. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is far cleaner than the aroma. Very crisp with cracker-like malts. Sugars and a little bitter halva. Very plain and basic but also very clean and crisp. Ok on balance. (3-4-5-4-12=2.8)
