UPDATED: DEC 4, 2015 Bottle poured into pint glass from Signal Variety, Plaistow NH. Aroma is citrus dominant over a mild yeasty and bready smell (had one of three with fairly strong yeasty ammonia/cat piss and b.o./dirty laundry smell and a little bit of bread--will give a pass that that was a bad one). Appearance is hazy yellow with nice sparkle, two finger-width fluffy white head and nice lacing. Taste still has the sour ammonia/cat piss (more than the aroma) with a strong citrus back end. Palate is medium bodied with sticky texture, somewhat astringent with average carbonation and very dry, bitter finish you can feel in your back teeth. Overall, I was really looking forward to this beer. There is a fair amount of complexity here but not all of it is good. umich03jm (3513) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - SEP 1, 2015
Bottle. Aroma is lots of herbal hops plus some citrus and grass. Tastes very grassy. Some light pilsner malt sweetness and citrus peel. Herbal finish. Doesn’t seem like a single hop citra beer at all. Just ok. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - AUG 5, 2015
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a nice looking semi-hazy yellow color with a light transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising to fill a three finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some light ringy foamy lacing cutting into the glass appropriately.
The smell had a sweet to semi-bitter connotation of citrus spiced rind over some light biscuity breadiness. It’s backed up by a nice sweet floral aspect as well.
The taste was moderately bitter with a sweetness sliding in to confide in a sweet smooth yet bitter sticky citrus aftertaste and a light sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation comes across fairly tame allowing a sticky smooth citrusto grassy feel rolling over my tongue.
Overall, I say as an India pale lager it works. Not sure why it’s labeled as an Imperial lager on here. Just cause it’s got a higher ABV doesn’t mean it’s an Imperial lager. Eh, oh well, whatever. It’s good for what it is and would be a good food beer. NikkTwist (3200) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 4, 2015
Draft at Milkboy. Cloudy yellow gold with a good showing of white foam that left sporadic lace. Bittersweet citrus pith. Mildly creamy body. Looks nice. Lemon pips. Grapefruit rinds. Honeycomb. Banana peels. Pineapple cores. Hints of vanilla bean and lemon verbena. Yellow plums. Celery hearts. Artichokes. Pilsner/wheat beer flavors underneath. Hay. Straw. Sourdough farmhouse. More complex than anticipated.

(bottle - 12 oz) Cloudy gold pour with a fluffy white head. Light citrus hop aroma with a light floral hint. More an IPA in my view than a lager. Citrus hops and a very light and slightly bitter finish. jdjuice (500) - Kumamoto, JAPAN - JUL 11, 2015
Pours a nice cloudy gold with rocky white head. Aromas are fruity hops, not as overwhelming citrus as I’d expect with Citra, but still nice. Drinks more like an IPA, lacks the clean, dry character I’d expect with a lager. Sorta heavy on the hop bitter aftertaste. PhatB420 (840) - Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 14, 2015
12oz into a glass. Pours a honey lemonade gold. Super huge and thick white head, imminent domain. A few inches of goodness. Hangs out awhile too. Aroma of orange, grain, crystal malt, citra hop essence. Taste of hoppy orange, grassy Meadows of herbage, fresh pine, malty finish. The interchange between the styles is interesting, as it hovers over an Ipa base but throws in pilsner and lager quantifications as well. Groovy and relaxing. UPDATED: JUN 11, 2016 Poured from tap light golden color with a thin white head. Aromas of juicy citrus and hop. Taste is ok but left something to be desired. katrinaez (1924) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2015
High grapefruit even the rinds finish it. Hops are heavy but not insane. Deep yellow and hazy. Light aroma makes me think sunshine. Tap
