This is a pretty typical American Oktoberfest. Malty but perhaps too much caramel for the style, light German hops. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either.
Draft at 10 Railroad St in Morrisville, VT. Not retired. Cloudy apple sauce colored pour with no head. High hop content for the style. Disappointing. Maybe it should stay retired. Mikeyaponte (76) - Chicopee, Massachusetts, USA - APR 18, 2015
Tried this at the Eastern States Exposition. Big E state fair. One of the best beers available at the fairgrounds. Vermont State building. Stop in, there are other Vermont beers available. Yummy.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a crystal clear orange-amber color with a one finger pure white head. The head fades over about a three minute time period to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma was of a roasted malt smell with a light caramel and toffee sweetness. Along with these smells are some light earthy and herbal hop aromas.
Taste – The taste begins with a roasted bready flavor with a bit of caramel sweetness. The sweetness increases toward the middle of the taste with the caramel growing stronger and some other light fruit flavors coming to the tongue. Flavors of a grassy and earthy nature come to the tongue at the end, and with the sweeter flavors increasing a bit, a moderately sweet and toasted malt flavor is left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that was on the averages side as well. Both were nice for making a rather refreshing and easy drinking brew overall.
Overall – A nice drinking oKtoberfest. Nothing super exceptional, but good none the less.

It has a hazy appearance with a medium orange amber colored body. The head is just off white in color, small and fades quickly to a light ring of lace. There is a mild aroma of sweet bready malt with an odd ginger like spice and earthy dried leafy hops. It has interesting malty character with some caramel roasted flavors mixed with buttery sour dough bread notes and dry yeast. Hop flavor is in good balance and adds leafy and mildly spicy hop flavors which quickly fade off in the finish. It has a smooth texture, average carbonation and a good medium body.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance has a dark copper colored body and left a one finger white foamy head, some nice ringy lacing was left around the sides of the glass. No carbonation was seen rising.
The smell seemed really off, bland and muted caramel tones with some light nuttiness to it.
The taste was basically the same.
The palate was a light to medium with nothing harsh on the tongue, sessionable.
Overall, I’m not that impressed with this beer. I’ve had better Oktoberfests and this isn’t one of them. I won’t seek this out again.

Bottle at home. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy off-white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty malt, earthy and spicy hops, and light notes of dates. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, somewhat dirty malt, almost endol in flavor with a sweet finish. Medium body and light carbonation. fishonmyplane (505) - Newington, Connecticut, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Caramel sweetness, some bread. A little hoppier than a typical Oktoberfest. But overall, too timid. It needs a fuller body and a stronger flavor to be called an Oktoberfest. Travlr (26430) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 3, 2013
Draft. Hazy amber color, medium white head. Aroma of lightly toasted caramel. Taste is malt forward, subtle bread dough. Iphonephan (7482) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - SEP 28, 2013
On draft at Mad Fox Oktoberfest. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head. Mild malty nose. Flavors if biscuit and lemon notes. Short mildly bitter finish. Scrapersnbeer (1532) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 25, 2013
Aroma of toast, citrus and earthy spices. Hazy orange...just like the leaves. Mineral laced bittersweet bready taste. Light body for amber ale, a tad cloying. Not what I expected for ’Oktoberfest’ although suitably malty.
