Bottle. Very dark brown maroon color, thick tan head with good retention. Aroma of roasty chocolate and coffee. Taste is raisins, plums, cocoa. Very nice. johnnnniee (4408) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 29, 2011
Pours a dark brown with ruby highlights when held to the light. Has a fluffy off white head that sticks around for a bit leaving some lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma is heavy cocoa and milk chocolate with a faint fig/raisin in the background. Taste is chocolate then some roasted malts. Leaves a roasted malt bitterness in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is a little creamy and little oily, body is solid, carbonation is low, but appropriate. Decent brew that grew on me as I drank it. Smells awesome!

Nice murky dark brown colored beer. Aroma is of chocolate malts, coffee, floral hops, bread, and slight black licorice. Flavor is of malts, chocolate, coffee, and molasses. Has a nice mellow unsweetened chocolate finish. An overall pleasure to drink. tgncc (3145) - Bellmore, New York, USA - NOV 11, 2009
Aroma of bread, milk, light fruit, dark chocolate. The appearance is deep brown, tinge of red. When heald to the light, some light gets through. Small tan head. The flavor is roasted coffee, milk, dark bitter chocolate. Medium mouthfeel, creamy. The finish is roasted coffee beans, and a light bittering from resiny hops emerges after a few seconds. Decent beer, not a standout in this great style of beer, but enjoyable. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - SEP 22, 2009
Really enjoyable and smooth on cask. Dark rich pour. Aroma has some roasted malts and sweetness with mellow hops in the background. Flavor is sweet and smooth with dark rich roasted malts and hops. Some coffee and dark bittersweet chocolate.

* Reddish black; thin head
* A glassy look, light comes through at the edges
* Roasted, bitter coffee malt aroma
* Additional smells of semi-sweet chocolate
* Feels smooth and oily; not at all dry
* Taste of sweetish grapes and dates. Plum with bitter coffee.
* Really more sweet than bitter
* The alcohol really busts out at the finish
* Quite a solid beer Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2009
On tap at American Flatbread, Burlington, August 3 2009. A 2007 edition. A clear dark brown porter with a thim moka head, very still. In aroma, nutty and milky chocolate, with a bit of boiled veggies. In mouth, a rather light chocolate porter with a bit of molasse, rather thin bodied. Aging this one may not be the best..... gwpom (298) - Akron, New York, USA - MAY 2, 2009
Magnum. Fine beer. Deep dark pour, big foamy head.. but nice and smooth. I really haven’t had enough of the world’s best baltic porters.. so all I can do is say I liked it, and I would buy it again. Smooth and creamy. A nice beer. jeremytoni (3083) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - APR 7, 2009
From a bottle poured black with a very small head. Nice smotth malty/smokey flavor with a quick finish. Sparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 24, 2009
Bomber courtesy of far333 – thanks Frank! Pours black with mahogany hues and a one finger beige head that fades into a ring but still leaves spotty lacing. The nose is brownies and roasted malt. The taste is milk chocolate, cocoa and lactose with some roasty malts in the finish. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Decent porter.
