2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle to glass shaker. Pours a hazy amber with sparse head, and good lacing. Pretty malty, and typical of a bock. Not bad. I should probably try one actually in the spring...
Bottle. Pours orange brown with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, bread, and grains. Flavor of toasted malts, caramel, bread and some light fruit. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 28, 2014
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a hazy orange/brown colored body with a small white head that appeared for less than a minute and then died altogether. There was barely any lacing and what there was of it slightly spider-webbed. The body was too hazy for carbonation to be seen rising.
The smell was a bland stale caramel.
The taste was once again stale caramel blended with some pale malts. There was a slight hoppy finish with some skunkiness as well.
The palate sat about a medium and a bit watery - sessionable.
Overall, honestly I really didn’t like this. czar (9009) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 28, 2013
pours hazy golden orange with a small white head, some retention and lacing. spicy graininess and fruitiness - apricots, hint of caramel and sweetness, lightly toasted malts, shy german character, pepper, bit of booze. low carbonation, light body - oily and almost sticky, short but present herbal-grassy finish. o-k. williamherbert (1544) - Syracuse, New York, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Aroma of some apple skins, along with some caramel. It’s sweet but not too saccharine/sweet.
The look is a little watery, with some slushy lace but not a lot of head. Feels a little watery too.
Flavor is also a little sweetness, with a little pucker to it. Quite an easy drinker, if a bit pedestrian. jb (3221) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2013
This is a very underrated beer. Bocks don’t get much love around here. Rich malt aroma along with baked bread and caramel. Palate follows suit it is sweet with a nice ester profile. I really like this.

Pours a clear caramel amber color with a creamy white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, and grain. Excellent lacing with a caramel, grain, and fruit flavor. Not a bad beer. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a smallish white head. Nose is very malt forward with a hint of caramel in there. Taste is similar, though some slight bit of toasting comes through at the end. Not too bad, but not great. mansquito (6338) - Nueva York, New York, USA - APR 4, 2013
New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($2): Pours a light amber with barely any head. Aroma is bubblegum and nondescript dark fruits. Taste is slightly sweet, uncomplex, and light. Leaves some bockish aftertaste. Pretty uninteresting, and I don’t know that I would reach for this sooner than I would for a pale lager. Enjoyable malty sweetness. This one was aged for about 6 months, so the hops were muted, but the maltiness of this beer was solid. Liked it.
