Copper-brown in colour with a strong aftertaste, although the strength is hidden somewhat by the fruity sweet flavours which are also evident in its aroma.

I cant beleive I rated from Marys half-empty glass, but I did. Amber beer, white head. Sweet and malty aroma with a very crackery and toasty character. Earthy aroma but with a very low hop rate. Flavour is quite sweet and it doesnt really have much in the way of balance. Very British malt character but it still seems a bit disjointed to me.

bottle. Copper colour, creamy head. Quite hoppy, pleasantly bitter, rounded by malt. Full-bodied. Hints of orange zest, actually the orange flavour reminds me of typical English orange marmelade.

Bottle. Off-white head. Hazy amber body. Fruity malt aroma. Caramel and sweet berries and the end a bit of bitterness suiting the beer very well.

Bottled 06/05/12. A russet coloured beer with an off-white ring of head. A fruity aroma with sweet and slightly sugary notes. Predominantly malty but the hops are there too and give good fruitiness. A nice long finish. Boozy and tasty.8

Cask-conditioned at the Bag ONails, Bristol 17/1/08. Orange coloured with a decent, off-white head. Caramel and red fruit aroma with some earthy hops. Full mouth feel with more malt and a long bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 16 Nov 2007) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, orange peel and earthy hops. Malty taste with dried fruit, citrus and earthy hops. Slightly above medium body. A good deal of malt sweetness shining through with a warming whiff of alcohol in the finish. Nice beer.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse, 500 ml bottle - nice bottle - like the otter on the label. Dark orange to amber pour with a soft pillowy white head that sticks around for a while. Aroma is a bit "off" with some hints of aquarium water, but mellows as it warms and presents some subtle mintiness. Full bodied bitter flavor with some peach notes, mint and a bit of ripening vegetable funkiness. Clean even mouthfeel with a tad bit of harshness in the finish. Overall, enjoyable, but think it would have been more enjoyable from the cask in a dark English pub - this one seems to be a bit worse for the wear on the trip over.

Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall as Otter Head, 5.8%. Dark amber orange, still and translucent with an enduring foamy beige head. Aroma is toffee, bread, golden syrup and honey. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is honey on toast, some astringent resinous hops, spicy with some booze. Not too sweet despite the rich malts giving a honey vibe. Actually pretty good but Id only want a half.
