Lightly hazy dark copper pour covered by an irregular and small white head. Sandy and lightly earthy nose with a pleasantly minty hop twist that contrast with the toasty and biscuity malts whose sweetness escapes the hops radar. Medium bodied, moderately high carbonation. Good.

Bottle. Copper to near dark brown pour. Very murky. Small random bubbles gathered together on the right side of the glass. Nose is caramel, sweet malts, flowery hops and apple skins. Taste is hoppy and floral with more apple skins, soft caramel and sweet malts. Very bitter taste and lingering bitterness throughout. Body is soft and light-medium. Carbonation is there but seemingly faded. Ends with more caramel, sweet malts, apple, floral hops and some earthy hops. More bitterness.

50cl bottle. Pours a lovely amber with gentle bubbles and a nicely proportioned head some of which remains. The nose has raisins and flour. The taste has flour and toffee this time and chocolate biscuits on the finish. The palate is rich but very tight, then a compact middle section which continues into a long dry finish. Overall, a nice strong bitter.

CASK at Charlies. Amber colour with a small tan head. Malty, Fruity aroma and a light sweet fruity taste. Medium body with a sweet dry finish.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of frothy fine to large sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a slightly hazy softly carbonated brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was malty bready and dough. The crisp mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The weird off the mark flavor contained notes of malt and hops. Not one that I would likely buy again.

Cloudy amber beer, with a very small, fizzy lace - quite a yeasty and bready aroma, with a lot of caramel, toffee, and nutty character, and a soft underlying earthiness - the flavor starts off with moderate fuggles bitterness and strong herbal, tea-like qualities - this quickly makes way for brown sugar, toffee, and hazelnut - some subtle notes of citrus and fruit pulp - yeasty near the finish - there is a nice earthiness to this one throughout, which lends a nice dimension, and makes the beer stand out - very bready at the end - different and interesting.

Pours hazy amber into an English pint. White head quickly subsides to pancake surface. Caramel and resin aromas. Silky with upfront caramel and a lasting sour malt finish.

EithCubes (5723) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 28, 2007
Bottle. Sweet fruity malt aroma, yeasty apple cider with bubblegum. Opaque cloudy brown pour with a delicious creamy beige head. Medially bitter taste, nuts and strong caramel mixed with light roast and earthy toffee. Soft mouthfeel, saliva-inducing flavor and a medium-thick body. Abrupt dry finish and aftertaste. No carbonation here at all. Somewhat vegetal tone, in line with a pumpkin beer but without that specific flavor. All malt and no hops. Very drinkable, but not really a standalone brew.

Thanks to Bill at 3 Sons Dogs and Suds in Wexford. How about the name of this stuff? Big 16.9 oz bottle. Initally a rather tart aroma greets the nose when you pop the lid. Brownish iced tea color with a swirling haze, probobly due to the unfiltered gunk on the bottom of the bottle. Rather smooth and friendly on the initial palte, lacks any terrible bitterness. Decent creamy carbonation. I was bracing myself but now I am pleasantly surprized. Does not seem to have anything near the alky content listed here. It hides it well with the creamy laid back refined taste. Very well made civilized bitter, I must admit. Good manners and fun to drink, glad i tried this. Finish is mildly bitter and lingering for a short time but it is well controlled as with the taste throughout the sesssion.

From the bottle this pours a hazy brownish amber body with a small off-white head that produces spotty lacing. The aroma has caramel, orchard fruit, butterscotch, and a soft floral/herbal bitterness. Creamy in the mouth, the caramel and butterscotch are moderately sweet, just at a level to deal with the steady hoppy bitterness. Nice mildly bitter finish, making this a pleasantly sessionable ale.
