Caramelly toffee malts. Orangey and spicey, with some alcohol noticed in the future, sweetish, with some bitterness.

50 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Reddish brown colour with a little head. Nutty and malty aroma with notes of hops. Very tasty flavour of malt, alcohol and with notes of hops and toffee.

ganache (6065) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 28, 2007
Bottle. Sweet fruity malt aroma, yeasty apple cider with bubblegum. Opaque cloudy brown pour with a delicious creamy beige head. Medially bitter taste, nuts and strong caramel mixed with light roast and earthy toffee. Soft mouthfeel, saliva-inducing flavor and a medium-thick body. Abrupt dry finish and aftertaste. No carbonation here at all. Somewhat vegetal tone, in line with a pumpkin beer but without that specific flavor. All malt and no hops. Very drinkable, but not really a standalone brew.

Pint at the Tilley Stone in an English pint/ Clear dark amber with a creamy off white head. Certainly good looking. Muted toffee aroma, leaning towards a milky fudge. I’m going to stick with "muted" as far as flavour is concerned. Some red =currant, raisin and toffee, but nothing assertive or taste bud catching. Alcohol well disguised. Drank more like an old fashioned premium bitter. Not great, but not bad.

Cask @ GBBF 2016. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel spicy finish.

Sigmund (7961) - Tau, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2006
500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.8%. Reddish amber to brown colour, low off-white head. Minimal carbonation, nearly flat. Moderate but nice aroma of caramel, toffee, berries and dried fruits, with some oak in the background. Flavour has plenty of caramel, and a substantial bitterness in the finish and aftertaste, and a sweetish reminder of the relatively high ABV, but little else than that. Not an easy-drinking ale this one, and not particularly interesting either. Still better than many run-of-the-mill ales.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2007. Chestnut colour with thin beige head. Some choc on aroma, bit syrupy in mouth. It’s fine, got some good grain and malt, nice strength to it. Bit too sweet maybe.

Shared with Hogtown harry and Blankboy, Harry’s bottle. Deep orange/brown, very little head, looks flat. Fruity, bread notes, hint of sourness in aroma. Taste is good - lots of earthy caramel, some hops, nice sweetness, assertive. A tad watery - medium, to thin body. Not bad.

Bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a spare diminishing bubbly white head. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit, some sweet candy and hops. Flavour of caramel malt, lightly burnt or toasty with some sweet fruit and a mild but decent bitter finish. Average bodied. Flavour’s better then the aroma suggests, all in all it’s not bad.

brown with a small white head. Somewhat weak caramel, chocolate aroma with a hint of dried fruits. Sweet and fruity flavour
