zappafan99 (463) - ASCENSION ISLAND - FEB 9, 2009
Taste 2/9 bottle. Looks: Dark cloudy tea colored body with a thin tan head. Aroma: Sweet malt (almost syrup) with some yeast must in the background. Taste: Very malt heavy, a little hops coming through in the finish. Yeast and hops are in the background for the style.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2009 Pours a murky brown with a very thin white head. Mouth is kind of flat, almost no carbonation. Flavor is complex and hard for me to describe. Very strong roasted malt, some juicy hops, and a little bitter chocolate. Interesting.

Cask. Clear copper with a good-sized head. Sweet citrus scent. Quite sweet in the mouth but also watery. Some carbonation. Very malty with mown grass and roasted nuts. Not bad.

Strangely lacking in body for a 5.8. per center. Not a lot of flavour although a slight fruitiness does fight its way through.Quite pleasing browny/red appearance but all round a bit dissapointing.

[Cask at Jyske Øldage 2004, Kolding] An amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of diacethyl and caramel.

Cask at The Royal Oak, Lyndhurst-Bank : Amber coloured, nearly no head; vinous fruity nose, some traces of liquorice and alcohol; sweetish-fruity start; sweetish flavour; ending in a bitter-aromatic and sweet finish; a warming, pretty full-bodied and well-rounded brew !

Skinnyviking (9550) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2006
Bottle. Off-white head. Hazy amber body. Fruity malt aroma. Caramel and sweet berries and the end a bit of bitterness suiting the beer very well.

Bottle. Copper to near dark brown pour. Very murky. Small random bubbles gathered together on the right side of the glass. Nose is caramel, sweet malts, flowery hops and apple skins. Taste is hoppy and floral with more apple skins, soft caramel and sweet malts. Very bitter taste and lingering bitterness throughout. Body is soft and light-medium. Carbonation is there but seemingly faded. Ends with more caramel, sweet malts, apple, floral hops and some earthy hops. More bitterness.
