brown with a small white head. Somewhat weak caramel, chocolate aroma with a hint of dried fruits. Sweet and fruity flavour NJBeerman013 (1054) - Hamilton Twp., New Jersey, USA - DEC 26, 2007
Bottle. A very drinkable ESB. This beer is a burnt amber in color, with little to no head. It has a floral aroma with a good crispness. The flavor is fairly malty. There are also hints of molasses, and a well rounded toasty character. Enjoyable. demdeac40 (299) - Etowah, North Carolina, USA - FEB 25, 2008
Pours a cloudy caramel color with no head and little carbonation. The nose is molasses and creme brulee with a slight yeasty tinge. The flavor is light caramel with a definite bitter finish. Not very full-bodied and a little light for me. Not bad. hotstuff (5258) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 18, 2008
Bottle. Small smooth tan head that quickly dissipated, virtually no lacing, cloudy, very little carbonation observed, and a dark orange hue. The nose was malty, hoppy and fruity. The flavor was malty, mildly hoppy, some caramel, and lightly bitter tasting. Tingly mouthfeel and medium in body. Just an okay beer for me as I could not acquire a liking for the taste as something seemed amiss about it. Not a beer that I am likely to have again. Cask at the White Horse, Parsons Green, 25th March 2008. A hardly carbonated, mahogany brew. Strong aroma of rich caramel malt and alcohol. Dark fruits come through in the taste and there is a good warmth to the palate. A decent strong ale.

Taste 2/9 bottle. Looks: Dark cloudy tea colored body with a thin tan head. Aroma: Sweet malt (almost syrup) with some yeast must in the background. Taste: Very malt heavy, a little hops coming through in the finish. Yeast and hops are in the background for the style. l1br4r14n (451) - Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA - APR 7, 2009
UPDATED: APR 8, 2009 Pours a murky brown with a very thin white head. Mouth is kind of flat, almost no carbonation. Flavor is complex and hard for me to describe. Very strong roasted malt, some juicy hops, and a little bitter chocolate. Interesting. dnas2 (705) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2009
Cask. Clear copper with a good-sized head. Sweet citrus scent. Quite sweet in the mouth but also watery. Some carbonation. Very malty with mown grass and roasted nuts. Not bad. Sparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - AUG 27, 2009
Pint bottle. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with just a thin ring for a head. The nose is fruity iced tea and sweet malt. The taste is caramel, light chocolate covered raisins and bitters in the finish. Thinner mouthfeel and pretty flat. Tastes better than I thought it would from the aroma, but nothing special.
