Pours a two finger cream head that fades slowly to a thin layer, leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Caramel nose. Flavor is sweet caramel that changes to a slight bitter finish. $4.35 for a 500ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Cloudy amber beer, with a very small, fizzy lace - quite a yeasty and bready aroma, with a lot of caramel, toffee, and nutty character, and a soft underlying earthiness - the flavor starts off with moderate fuggles bitterness and strong herbal, tea-like qualities - this quickly makes way for brown sugar, toffee, and hazelnut - some subtle notes of citrus and fruit pulp - yeasty near the finish - there is a nice earthiness to this one throughout, which lends a nice dimension, and makes the beer stand out - very bready at the end - different and interesting.

Draught. Clear coppery brown, good thick white head. Slightly tangy aroma, maybe apples. Creamy body with medium carbonation. Fairly tangy fruity foretaste with finish that is moderately bitter and has a malty marmitey lingering taste. Nice beer.

Well I thought I liked esb’s then maybe not. then there was this one. Pretty good. Not overall what I look for in appearance but good bitter taste. Would enjoy a bit more hops.

Bottled 06/05/12. A russet coloured beer with an off-white ring of head. A fruity aroma with sweet and slightly sugary notes. Predominantly malty but the hops are there too and give good fruitiness. A nice long finish. Boozy and tasty.8

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 16 Nov 2007) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, orange peel and earthy hops. Malty taste with dried fruit, citrus and earthy hops. Slightly above medium body. A good deal of malt sweetness shining through with a warming whiff of alcohol in the finish. Nice beer.

Cask. Lovely lace on a hazy red body. Quite a big, powerful aroma. Fruity and rather intense. Lots of dates. Also prune--maybe prune schnapps. Touch phenolic. Body is nice. Lots of prune again. Finishing dry with a big of alcohol on the tongue. Fruit cake with the bitterness of fruit skins.

This one had me scratching my head a bit, as when I first poured it, the aroma was not too much in your face but was there with sweet oak hint. A beautiful copper red color with a very small white fully diminishing head on this one. I really enjoyed the flavor however, with an initial sweet nutty caramel start finishing with a fruity sweet taste that was quick and did not linger on the palate. Very little bitterness to this beer and was quite refreshing and relaxing. It had a watery texture with medium body. I really enjoyed the taste of this beer, and it is unfortunate that the aroma really was a bit of a let down. Maybe it was my particular beer, but with a strong prevalent aroma this beer would be up on my list.

Inköpt i England och drucken med ölföreningen. En bra ESB med karamellkaraktär som balanseras av en frisk och fruktig humle med bra bett i beskan.

50cl bottle. Pours a lovely amber with gentle bubbles and a nicely proportioned head some of which remains. The nose has raisins and flour. The taste has flour and toffee this time and chocolate biscuits on the finish. The palate is rich but very tight, then a compact middle section which continues into a long dry finish. Overall, a nice strong bitter.
