On-cask and served in a pint glass
Appearance – Pumped a golden-orange color with a thin white head. The head faded fast leaving almost no lacing.
Smell – The smell was moderate but consisted mostly of hoppy aromas, although there is a little bit of bready malty aroma as well. Initially almost entirely bitter pine and citrus in nature, other hops aroma mixed in as the smell advanced. An ever so slight amount of sweet citrus citrus and some earthy and floral notes work their way in the nose.
Taste – The taste matched the nose quite well, but with a bit more potency. A good dose of bitter pine hoppiness meets the tongue. There is a dry, slightly roasty malt backbone mixed in with the pine. A citrus and a decent more earthy hop flavor then blend their way in more toward the middle and end of the taste. All together the tastes combine to leave a rather dry and bitter hoppy flavor in the mouth; rather satisfying.
Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel is rather average; possibly a bit above average due to a bit of creaminess. Being a cask brew, the carbonation level is a bit on the lower side. It is easy to drink, leaves something to be desired in the overall feel. Perhaps a bit more carbonation would enhance the drinking experience by accentuating the invigoration hoppiness on the tongue.
Overall – A fairly nice cask brew. The piney nature was quite refreshing. Not as good as slab cabin in my opinion, but a nice brew none the less.

Cask at Zeno’s. Pours orange with a thin white head that doesn’t leave much lacing. Slight citrus note on the nose. The hops coat the mouth a bit and there’s just a hint of bitterness on the finish. Subtle if you like that sort of thing. jar72404 (426) - USA - MAR 21, 2012
On tap at brewpub. Gold with quarter inch white head that retains. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Flavor is also like and grapefruit with some caramel. Solid brew overall. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 21, 2012
On cask at Otto’s. Very mild nose with slight honey and biscuit notes and a bit of floral hop character. Light golden amber clear with a bit of haze. Creamy white lacing head. Medium-light body with cask carbonation. Starts medium dry with a bit of citrus rind, floral fresh hop notes and a light grain astringency. Finish is mild with some pale sweetness and tea. Light bitter hop finish and subtle after.
