Hopheads rejoice! This strong IPA takes the style to a new level. It’s a big Imperial IPA packed with Nugget, Palisade, and Amarillo hops. Previously 8.2%.

Transfering from tasting notes. Bottle. Orange/amber pour with a big white head. Lots of pine and citrus on the nose. Well balanced hop and malt flavor. Not bad.

22oz bottle from trade with kramer17801. Very deep golden and orange color. Slightly hazy. Sweet aroma with citrus notes in the hops. When tasted, the hops and sweetness match up well. Alcohol is there but not overwhelming. For a DIPA, it was nicely balanced. Very similar to DFH 90. Would like to try it on tap.

chronictonic (490) - Oreland, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 25, 2009
bottle - sweet berry like aroma, mild hints of a chinook meatiness, but not what I would call hoppy at all in the nose. color is copper orange. Flavor is mild for a DIPA - on the sweet side with a mystery berry flavor - only medium to light hoppiness. At least it doesn’t have that sickly sweet over maltiness that you see in some CA DIPAs.

On tap at brewpub. Amber with minimal head. Citrus and piney aroma. Flavor: pine dominates the citrus, but both are noticeable. Quite bitter. Mouthfeel is a little syrupy, which is the only thing keeping this from being a great DIPA.

Bottle to glass mug. Pours a cloudy yellow with sparse head. Great mouthfeel with malt backbone and lots of hop notes

Growler poured into a trappist glass produced an amber body with thick tan head. This is one of the best IPAs I’ve tasted. Smooth with flavors of pineapple and orange with a nice hoppy finish. Very well balanced and very enjoyable.

Bomber. Clear, golden-orange body. Big fruit aroma of citrus, peach and mango. Punchy citric hop flavor and rich crystal malt. Medium-full body, average carbonation and a bitter finish. Pretty sticky and resinous with a lingering hop finish. Overall a pretty run of the mill IIPA that falls victim to the "bigger is better" that plagues the style. Taking this beer down a notch or two in gravity would probably improve it.

Subtle aroma for a big IPA. Some floral notes. Copper color with white head. Nice big hoppy wallop with bitterness on the palate. Decent IPA

On draft: Awesome hoppy beer, pours dark golden with adequate lacing. Intense citrus hop flavor is to the forefront with a modest malt sweetness. Not quite balanced right but I found myself going back for more till I was seeing double (D’s).

An Ottos staple, this is fantastic. The ABV is high, but the actual hop bitterness isn’t quite where I expected. Still, the flavor is a mix of citrus and greens, and it’s delicious. A must-have.
