Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, bourbon notes, wood, vanilla. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft.
22 fl oz bottle, thanks to sk8viking. Pours deep brown to black with a diminished light brown head. Chocolate, mild roasted malt and a bit of liqourice in the aroma. Flavour is dry roasted malt, no sweetness but a dry liqourice flavour. Ends quite dry with no bitterness, just more of the same dry persisting liqourice. (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of sk8viking. Poors completely black and opaque with a light brown head. Concentrated almost vinous aroma of roasted malts and dried fruit. Full-bodied with plenty of roastiness, accents of prunes and sweet licorice. Warming alcohol in the finish that also is low in bitterness. A pleasant one. 021107 omhper (24973) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 18, 2008
Bottled, thanks kmweaver(?) - sorry my beer stash is messed up... Very black, opaque, small pale brown head. Aroma of chocolate and licorice. Sweet, dense and fruity with full body and thick viscous mouthfeel. Chewy and solid with tar and licorice, molasses and tobacco. Salty tarry finish. All powerful and very correct. madmitch76 (24388) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2012

Opaque black beer. Softish dry palate. Rich dark malt with roast and a little smoke. Not too bitter. A fairly distinct and contrasting apple sweetness riding alongside, then some hop bitterness and dark malt bitterness at the finish. Odd but somewhat compelling stout.
Bottle courtesy of Greg at Birreria Paradiso Georgetown, thanks! Very dark brown color, scant brown head. Aroma of chalky cocoa dust. Taste is dry and bitter dark cocoa and coffee grounds. Tasty. cgarvieuk (24230) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 6, 2008
