Faint aroma, slightly alcoholic. Starts off really nice, sweeter and maltier, like a decent english barleywine. Has a sharp alcohol taste in the middle, mixed with hops. Lots of them. Some char is in there and it has a lingering flavour that ends rather abruptly. I like it, I think...It has some great flavour and is a really nice barleywine. 6oz. nip handbottle, with big thanks to acrdz for the chance to try! Pours a slightly hazy/mostly clear light orange, kind of like iced tea when the ice melts, a thin layer of large and loose bubbles shows up only briefly, with no lacing. A very nice nose, but can’t really describe accurately as the right terms escape me here; candied fruits, cooked raisin, toffee, melted caramel, and lots more there that I can’t put to words. Great aroma! Flavor is more great stuff I can’t describe, which frustrates me until I take another sip and am enveloped in comforting, tasty joy. pretty good barly wine. Taste like bourbon cut with cream. nose is dominated by bourbon, malt and alcohol. Rasins are also present. copper brown color. creamy probably from nitrogen flavors reflect the nose lots of bourbon from the aging barrels, bit malt character, with rasins. the finish is still of bourbon, malt, and alcohol. definate warmer. very nice mouthfeel. almost silky Miver (609) - Silver Spring, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 30, 2008
On cask at brewpub. Poured a cloudy copper in color with a small dense head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma is generally sweet with malts, citrus, and toffee. Light alcohol presence in the nose. Tastes of sweet malts, brown sugar, orange citrus, toffee, caramel, with a medium hop finish. Also in the finish there was some warming. On cask at Otto's. Poured into a snifter.
Dark copper pour with a light tan head. Really nice lacing.
The nose is raisins and alcohol. No hop character.
Flavor is raisin, treacle toffee, and a warm alcohol finish. A lightly bitter aftertaste though without any hop character.
Full mouthfeel. Light carbonation.
A nice Barleywine. Just the thing to end an evening with. I'd be curious to taste it a couple of years down the road, but it's good right now.

Aroma: oak, alcohol, tropical fruits, carmel malts, mustiness, and honey
Appearance: reddish brown, off-white head, lacing
Flavor: oak, mustiness, coconut, tropical fruits, some light sourness, light alcohol, and caramel
Palate: smooth, creamy, bubbly, oak and alcohol aftertaste, and some burnt malts
