DATE: June 30, 2017... OCCASION: live at Otto’s visiting Jer... GLASSWARE: no nick pint... arrives as an opaque burnt sienna body with a nice white ring--no room for head... first hints are fruity--apple, pear, BIG pineapple, melon, citrus... biscuit is a subtle reminder that the beer seeks balance...the Simcoe brings some earthiness to the aroma as well... lively and punchy, but mellow at its finish--the balance is struck in its palate...light to medium-bodied at 6.1%...the melon and grapefruit wed well with the apple and pear with the Simcoe pine working the profile well... a right solid pale that flirts with an IPA’s dimensions... refreshing and fruity, confident but agreeable... agl108 (1307) - Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 22, 2016
On draft at Otto’s. Poured hazy gold with thin white head, thick lacing. Floral notes, grassy. Light citrus. Sessionable. can8ianben (1601) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 19, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 This might just be my favorite Otto’s beer. I wish it was on tap more often! Love the hoppy Belgian flavor - I find the hops to be more aggressive than the regular pale ale! Beerathon (1680) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 3, 2015
I was pleasantly surprised by this Belgian style pale ale. The Belgian yeast is evident along with some sugary sweetness, but not cloying. Orange rind in the aroma and flavor. Hazy glowing yellow with thin white head. Dig it.

Undated bottle, slow pour into Duvel tulip glass. Cloudy apricot-orange, rather opaque hue topped by thin off-white tinted head. Slightly bitter but tame Belgain [yeast] smell. Lacing minimal at most. Tastes of sweet grass and lightly spiced citrus fruits; well carbonated. Lasting semi-sour aftertaste. This is a nice entry-level Begian Ale that you don’t need to sip. snoworsummer (6273) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 30, 2014
Draft in Erie, PA. Pours murky dark gold with a thin, fizzy white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like lemon, light herbs and spices, doughy grains. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like lemon, musk, herbs, and spices. sonnycheeba (6539) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 30, 2014
Tap. Pours hazy gold with creamy white head. Aroma is fresh citrus, cereal and cracker malts, light floral notes, and faint candy sugar. Flavor is dry malts, grassy hop bitterness, some citrus esters, and light sweetness; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Darkmagus82 (2303) - - MAY 20, 2014

Served on-tap in a pint glass
Appearance – Served a beautiful golden orange color with a bit of haze. The head served on the beer is light and fades very fast, leaving only the slightest bit of lacing.
Smell – The nose is very light. There was a very light citrus hop aroma mixed with some floral in the beginning. This faded fast and gave way to a very mild roasted malt aroma with a light yeasty smell. Very light.
Taste – A bitter hoppiness of grapefruit and some earthy flavors as well as roasted malt flavor are most pertinent up front. There are some light yeast cake flavors throughout the taste profile; light but ever present. Toward the middle of the taste, it sweetens a bit, with some orange citrus and a very light tropical fruit flavor. Overall these sweeter flavors are rather light in comparison to the parent bitter taste.
Mouthfeel – Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Nothing special, but not bad either. Just normal.
Overall – This was an alright beer although a bit more dry then I was expecting. FROTHINGSLOSH (8272) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2014
Sampled on draft this beer poured a murky apricot color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet with a bit of tropical fruit, vague fruity hops and cracker. The flavor was thin, watery and weak with a bit of tropical fruits and vague fruity hops. Medium length tangy tropical fruit finish. Medium body. Meh.
