A well hopped medium light bodied lager brewed with Czech malts, yeast and Saaz hops. This Czech-style pilsener has an initial pleasant maltiness followed by the distinct flavor of Saaz hops.

Growler, courtesy of acrdz, Friday at BCTC. Thanks, Mike! POurs a clear, bright golden color; thin, white head; average-looking pour. Cotton candy, toasty grains, and basic sugar in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: toasty grains, slight huskiness and citrus upfront; mild acidity; basic, moderately drinkable pilsener. Lengthy finish: toasty grains, breadiness, nicely dry.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. 5.6% abv on this pils. Golden to orange, with some wghite crowning head. Beery smell. Carbonation is significant but not obtrusive. Middle mouthfeel. Some lace. Malty pilsner with the hops appearing up front. Saaz is significant, not overpowering. A bit sour. Drinkable and approachable.

8/18/07 - Sampler at brewpub. No real nose. Tastes of malt with aggressive saaz hops. Nice balance. Good hop finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours clear yellow with small white head. The aroma is much like apple-chips. The flavor is green apple followed by a distinctly Saaz hop dryness. Not particularly imaginative, but certainly well executed.

clear dark gold, wispy white head, light sweet grain aroma, bitter hop flavor from start through a long bitter finish, sweet malt provides a good base and balance for the bitterness

On tap at the brewpub. Aroma a fresh brace of lemon salts and honey grain. Rich and wheaty, yet restrained and lightly grassy. Nips of almond. Nice. Pours a clear gold, rimmed in a hearty white soap. Flavor runs on the bitter side with loping grasses and herbal bite. Malt slides in for a little crisp, tart sugar and rounds out the lagered hop fest. Bright, fresh and alive. Not as drinkable as I would have anticipated, but still thirst slaking nonetheless. Rounded and full of light nuance. Damn good.

Draft at brewpub. Pours pale golden with a white head. Aroma of saaz hops and pilsner malts. Flavor of biscuit, pilsner malts, and subtle honey that is countered by a nice amount of hop bitterness. Spicy bitterness on a clean finish. I am a hop head an appreciated the extra hop kick on this beer. Nicely done.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager beer color and appearance. Very little detectable aroma. The initial taste has a refined hop bite like many pilsners. A bit industrial in its presentation. Good carbonation. Has lots of personality. Over all a decent pilsner with much appeal. Finish is a little bitter and medicinal. It lingers for quite a while. Not quite as good as Budweiser Budvar (Czechvar) 12° or Zlaty Bazant 12% (Golden Pheasant) but it holds its own against B.B. Originál Svetly Lezák Budweiser Bier, Pilsner Urquell and Nova Paka Kumburak.

ABC 06. Pours a nice clear deep straw/gold with lively carbonation and a moderate diminishing white head. Aroma is slightly earhty, herbla hops and as it warms a bit of the fresh pilsner malt comes through. Bready flavor with a good hoppy bitter finish- very clean and easy drinking.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8142) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2006
Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark golden color with a small white head. The color is darker than one usually sees in this style. The aroma is crisp floral and light fruity hops. The flavor is dominated by sharp and crisp floral hops with only a light malty base and a bitter hoppy finish.
