DATE REVIEWED: August 7, 2014... GLASSWARE: Hop Devil nonick... OCCASION: enjoying a nice haul from our State College weekend...APPEARANCE: clear, red amber body that streams a steady effervescence; dirty white head settles from a solid finger to a creamy resilience flaring with sunbursts of lacing--great to look at... AROMA: brilliant botanical array of lilac, carnations and grass; secondary scents of spices such as allspice and nutmeg--invitingly complex... PALATE: mellow, medium-bodied and drinkably relaxed; a thin yet consistent aftertaste holds to the back of the throat; creamy, if anything... TASTE: a solidly established pale ale, though not big enough for the India moniker--well-rounded, perhaps, by the soft, sweet malts that balance every sip; the malts--creamy, buttery--escort blunted hops along the journey, with a sessionable invitation... OVERALL: although a pleasant sipping beer, I find it tough to call this IPA anything beyond above average, as so many breweries are setting thee bar so high in this style...still, tough to slam a beer that is aesthetically pleasing and delivers on its promise with enough balance to convince--albeit temporarily--that the overhopped IPA is not the way to go .... Poured from bottle into grenade pint glass
Appearance - Pours a nice red/orange color with a thin white head that lasts nearly 5 min.
Smell - Meet initially with some piney aroma from the hops as well as a little bit of sweet caramel aroma.
Taste - a great balance between malt and hop. The maltliness starts strong, with the hops finishing strong.
Mouthfeel - Good carbonation and body for beer style. Not too thin but just right.
Overall - A great brew to drink on an average occasion. A very good standard IPA and one I would recommend over more well know such as 60 min. IPA.

Aroma - nice balance of piney hops and floral hops.
Appearance - reddish-copper color body; clean and clear; head is about 1/2" white head
Taste - piney hops and a nice floral quality
Palate - body is medium; texture is moderate, and not oily; carbonation is lively; the finish is a nice hop roar that hangs on for a decent time. keepersj12 (3112) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - MAY 11, 2014
Very nice to look at. Clear amber with a red tint, small head. The aroma is floral and fruity. The taste disappoints though. Slightly fruity with a bit of caramel. A bit thin as well.

Dark amber pour, aroma of citrus and floral hops, taste is similar, nothing stands out, but overall pretty good

Decent IPA, with a hearty flavor. Doesn't wow me or surprise me, pretty basic. Nejhleader (1550) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 31, 2013
An okay crisp brew. Has a bit of a nice spice taste blended with the hops, smooth aftertaste with standard bitter hop flavor. Leafs93 (2292) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 15, 2013
Pours a clear deep copper with an off white head. Aroma is floral, hint of citrus and caramel. Taste is mild bitters with sweet finish. Medium bodied. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - OCT 6, 2013
The beer has a decent color with a nice reddish/brown hue to it, a nice white one finger head, and decent lacing on the glass. The beer has a decent citrusy hoppy scent and a mild medium malty finish. The beer tastes decent with a medium citrusy flavor that is followed by a well balanced maltiness to it. The mouthfeel is decent as the beer is well carbonated and has a lingering bitterness from the hops. Overall, a decent IPA but it doesmt blow you away..but decent.
