On draft at brewpub. Poured copper in color with a nice beige head that left great lacing on the glass. Aroma of mostly floral hops with some pine, citrus, and some underlying sweet malt. Tastes of caramel malt base with piney, resiny sticky hop mouth feel, light citrus, and finishes with a nice hop bittering. I really really liked this one. It was my highlight at otto’s for sure. Growler. Pours a deep amber color with a foamy off-white head that lasts throughout. Leaves incredible lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is grapefruit bitterness balanced by a light toffee-like sweetness. The bitterness carries through to a long finish that begs for another sip. This is one tasty IPA. Tap at Ottos. I had thought this was going to be stronger than 5%? Pours a nice medium copper with a nice lasting tight white head and good lace. Aroma is fruity, light tropical notes, lots fo citrus- grapefruit, some lemon and good pine needle character. Flavor has a good light malt backbone, with a strong resinous, pine and citrus hop, and a really good raw hop bitterness- ends a bit tacky and harsh from the hops which was nice. Good clean long finish- very easy drinking. I still think it must be higher than 5%.

Hand-Bottle from Miver. Thanks Joe. Pours a deep red amber with a small sudsy white lace. Nose has a lot of perfume and floral notes with some tropical and citrus fruits going on. Flavor has a nice complex hop flavor--more citrus juiciness, earthy, a bit of lemongrass. Tasty, wish I could have it fresh but the handbottle. held up pretty darn well. Thanks again Joe(Exclamation point) Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2008
From growler. Terrific nose on this one. Fruity big hop nose, with apricot nectar, pine resin, and grapefruit pulp. Mild nutty sweetness in the malt. Very fragrant, hoppy and sweet. Dark coppery brown clear, with thin foamy off-white lacing head. Pretty dark for an IPA. Medium watery body, with medium carbonation. Easy drinking. Starts with rich caramel-biscuit malt sweetness that is quite mild. For all the wonderful hop aromas, this IPA is not that bitter or hoppy in taste. Nice apricot-grapefruit hop taste, with just a mild astringent bitter finish. The hops are more tasty than bitter. The after is lightly dry, with a nutty bitter character and mild sweetness. Very nice IPA - like the milder, sweeter version of Double D.

Bottle: Poured a sharp orange with a light off white head. Aroma is caramel malt and citrus hops. Flavor is chewy hops and of set by the malts. The bitterness remained in the finish and keeps the tongue eager for more. CapnJazz (52) - Binghamton, New York, USA - OCT 3, 2009
Bomber from the brewery. Clear deep red, nose bursting with resiney, piney hops. Love the floral expression. Mouth is so well balanced: a bit sweet, citrusy, floral, then lightly bitter. Great in its simplicity and balance, one of the best yet from Ottos. PoCo (5) - COUDERSPORT, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 6, 2013 does not count
This is a very good IPA from our friends in State College, PA.
It is regularly available now so it shouldn’t be "Special Seasonal". It it noticeably more hoppy than the Mt. Nittany. Clean up front, bitter hoppy back. bradleysaurus (51) - - AUG 10, 2013
Pours a dark amber color with tan head. Citrus hops upfront followed by a smooth bitter back taste. Decent ipa Darkmagus82 (2302) - - MAY 17, 2014
Poured from bottle into grenade pint glass
Appearance - Pours a nice red/orange color with a thin white head that lasts nearly 5 min.
Smell - Meet initially with some piney aroma from the hops as well as a little bit of sweet caramel aroma.
Taste - a great balance between malt and hop. The maltliness starts strong, with the hops finishing strong.
Mouthfeel - Good carbonation and body for beer style. Not too thin but just right.
Overall - A great brew to drink on an average occasion. A very good standard IPA and one I would recommend over more well know such as 60 min. IPA.
