Sampled on draft this beer poured a ruby caramel color with a large khaki head. The aroma was fruity, floral and lightly piney hops. The flavor was bitter, tart, fruity and piney with a floral hop undertone and light sweet malts. The finish is short and hoppy. Nice. dpjuart (1112) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 17, 2008
10/7/08 - Draft at brewpub. Pours orange amber with foamy, off-white head, good lacing. Nose is pine and citrus hops with a good dose of caramel and toffee. Taste is moderately bitter to rather bitter with a good toffee and caramel background and lots of hop flavor, grapefruit, pine, floral notes, all towards the end with bitter and perfumy notes lingering well into the after. A great replacement/hold over until DD’s can return. Heck, I hope they keep this on the menu, too. kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 8, 2009

Really nice looking, rather dark and reddish with a lot of foam. Very hoppy nose. Creamy palate with lots of caramel and bold hops leading to a very dry finish. This was very nice.

Hand Bottle (That puzzl had left at the Blind Tiger. Thanks Andy!) Amber pour with a dense off white head. Odd aroma giving off resiny and fruity hop qualities- oily resins, tropical notes of mango and a squash-like hint, with a uric acid note in there. Funky. The body is creamy with mild carbonation (could be because it was hand bottled) Either way, the flavor gives off some tropical fruit hop flavors of peach, which is accompanied by an odd uric acidity (pissy, as Maxxdaddy described it) Citrusy notes come out as well with an oily piny finish. Although the alpha acids seemed a bit pissy and earthy, I rather enjoyed this IPA. obxdude10 (2324) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 4, 2009
I wasn’t overly impressed with this IPA. In fact, it’s pretty average. There really wasn’t any one characteristic of this beer that truely stood out. It poured a dark amber color with a generous off-white head. There was some nice lacing around the edges of the glass. The aroma was mostly of pine and earth with some floral hops thrown in. The body and flavors were quite hoppy, but I think they used a bit too much malt. There was an overwelming character or caramel and earth. I think this IPA would have been better had they backed off the malt a bit. But it’s still a decently drinkable beer.
