Taste is sweet and candy like with a high alcohol kick, very clean on the palate

Sampled on 3/2/2012. This Belgian Tripel pours a rather chunky orange gold color from a 33cl bottle. Large sized white foamy, rocky head with good lacing and long lasting retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, grassy and floral. A medium bodied Tripel. The malts are fruity and sweet, peaches and apricots. The hops are herbal and earthy. Lively carbonation. Caution, there is a whole lot of yeast floaties in this beer. I did not use caution in pouring so I got a really chunky beer. Sweet at the start and finishes a touch crisp and dry. Perhaps a touch of funk. A touch of alcohol as well. Its not a total trainwreck but its not the most balanced of beers. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some alcohol.

2/12/12. 750mL bottle. Hazy orange pour with a nice, thick khaki head that is full, tight, frothy, lasts, and laces plenty. Be careful because big yeast globules will plop out at the end of the bottle. Surprisingly faint aroma with some yeast, plenty of metal, and a funky almost sourness that reminds me of some saisons. Sweet, bready flavor that is both malty and sugary. Slightly floral aspects as well, but the lingering flavor is almost overwhelmingly sweet. Meh.

Clear light orange beer, small off-white head, bit stable, little adhesive. Aroma: paint, disinfectant, lots of spices, cloves, coriander. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: overripe to rotten fruits, band-aid, canned peaches, sweet sugary, pepper, citrus. Aftertaste: spicy, hot peppers, grapefruit, sugary ending.

Picked up a bottle from Marty’s. Aroma of dried apricots, bread and yeast . Amber colored with cascading sediment, lots of head, lacing and carbon dioxide release. Tastes sweet and mellow at first, then slightly bitter transitioning to almost sour. Smooth bodied and easy to drink, however. Not what one expects from a tripel, perhaps this reflects that it is an old recipe renewed.

Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a bright yellow color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was a bit medicinal with a fairly strong sourdough bread presence and touches of pear and must. The flavor was dryish, chalky and a touch medicinal with notes of peach, pear and apricot and a strong sourdough bread presence. The finish was medium length chalk and mixed golden fruits. Fairly full bodied but somewhat overcarbonated. Ok.

Pours a bright golden yellow color. Aromas of hops, fruit, and a little yeast. Has a light fruity taste, with some yeasty notes, and a good hop flavor.
