Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

Bottle. Lots of raspberry indeed, a bit like a syrup. Lightly sour, tart, but also quite soft, smooth round. Dry but fruity, gentle palate, simple, high drinkability, but not particularly complex.

A 0.375 l bottle that poured lightly hazy red to copper body with a tiny head atop. Nice and strong fresh raspberry aroma, just like the real, wild ones from Bosnia I had a couple hours before. Flavor was only lightly sour, fruity with raspberry, dried fruits, touch of apple vinegar and leather. Medium bodied with light sourness in the finish along with some sweetness, too. Lightly chalky there. Pleasant enough, well made, although, unlike the most I guess, I would appreciate harsher lambic character.

Bottled in late 2012. Funny they dont mention more that they also ad 50g/l of cherries. Enormous thanks heavy, shared with him & some others. Clear red-amber body with a tiny white head which vanished immediately. Enormous raspberry, fresh aroma, jammy notes. Mild, light raspberry taste, some dried fruit, low tartness, a touch of tea. Quite interesting and more "pedestrian" than expected, but still a very good beer.

37.5cl bottle. Best before 2019-07-05. Batch L51871. It poured a dark ruby red colour with a minimal white head. Aroma is lots of raspberries with some cherries and vinous hints. Flavour is bittersweet. Lots of raspberries again but also some fake chemical notes. A decent beer in the summer heat.

Draught @ Koelschip. Amber with a red glow and a pink, dense head. Solid aroma of raspberries and cellar. Flavour is raspberry sweet with only a little tartness. Lovely stuff and easy to forget its actually beer.

Hazed amberish color with a small head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an unsual soft carbonation. A bit higher carbonation would have done this beer well. Pleasant mild acidity and a mellow sweetness. Lots of raspberries in this one. Decent summer beer. Maybee a bit one dimensional.
