COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Framboise is a classic among the Belgian beers created by adding whole fresh raspberries (250 g/l)to a blend of young and old lambic. Framboise Oud Beersel is the missing link between beer and wine and is served chilled in flute glasses.

13-08-17 // bottle shared at Petit Belge Wiesbaden. Dar red coloured with a small pinkish head. Sweet rasperries and a slight sour nose. Taste is rasperry jam, sweet-sour.

Keg at CBC Brixton as Oud Beersel Framboise, 5%. First impression is just how jammy the aroma is, even from distance. Pours a hazy brick red, translucent bordering on opaque with a huge creamy pink head that leaves full lacing. Aroma is jammy dodgers all over, then raspberry filled doughnuts and some jolly rancher. So jammy. Body is light but quite rounded with tingly carbonation. Taste is again jammy dodger biscuits, thin jam on bread, stewed raspberry and general fruit cordial made up with sodawater. This is a pretty fun beverage to try. It's definitely sweet but I wouldn't say overly so. The complexity isn't really there. Quite tasty though. (7-4-5-3-15=3.4)

375 mL bottle. The pour is a darker ruby brown color with a lack of head and a seemingly no lace as it falls. The aroma is really sweet there is a hint of chocolate and a strong jam with a light alcohol and no real bright fruitiness. The flavor is much of the same. The jamminess works pretty well, but there is a sharp chocolate thing happening on the end. I'm not too crazy about it. The mouth feel is light and watery with a lack of carbonation and a lingeringly sweet chocolate and an interesting fruit. This isn't bad, but I needs quite a bit of help. 6 3 5 3 12

Bottle shared with Gus. Aroma is raspberry jam, some yeast, slightly tart, eh, strange raisin chocolate thing too. Appearance is dark dark red, thin light pink head, hazy. Taste is raspberry jam, milk chocolate, dry, slightly tart, no real funk. Mouthfeel is medium body, super light carbonation, dry watered down raspberry jam aftertaste. Overall, it's ok.

Turtles (2899) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2017
Keg @ Bishops Arms, Hornsgatan. Clear red, lasting white head, good lacing. Aroma is all about sweet and fresh raspberries. Mouthfeel on the sweet side, crisp, mild carbonation. Taste is also all about fresh raspberries, taste just like that perfect ripe sweet raspberry with a tiny tartness in the background. Not bad at all, as far as fruit and berries go.

Tap at Beer Geek Bar. Lots of raspberries all over the place, lightly lactic as well. Underlying lambic character does not come through very much, only lightly and simply. Also only lightly sour, moderate sweetness of raw fruit. Very good, but too much fruit and too little funk complexity and intensity for me.

12.7floz bottle (375ml), BBD: 10.27.2018, $6, tulip glass. I poured too vigorously and got some sediment into dark garnet-brown body. Smells like red colored hard candy (not cinnamon). The body is quite watery with mild tingly sensations felt toward the back and roof of my mouth. Considering how this beer looks, it is surprisingly tastes like severely watered berry flavored fruit juice. I like it enough, but lacks sourness and sweetness.

metalspice (1055) - Jevnaker, NORWAY - SEP 22, 2017
Pen rødfarge med lavt skum. Mye bær, først og fremst bringebær sammen med litt syre og et lett eikepreg. Lett perlende munnfølelse.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2017 Draft at Mikkeller. Very nice red colour with no foam. Smell of fresh red fruits, you can smell that they are raspberries. In taste it is pleasant but not very complex. There is medium sweetness and sourness, raspberries are pretty easy to recognize. I miss funkiness in this beer. Body is light and the carbonation is just right. I liked this beer, but there was nothing special about it.
