COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. Oud Beersel Geuze Ale is the white sparkling wine of the ale world.

My first exposure to a gueze lambic and boy do i love it. Pours a murky light tan that looks bright amber when held to the light. The head is thick, light tan, creamy, sticky lace. The aroma is tart, sour, aged mellow cherries, spicy, smells like a flemish sour. The flavor is very tart and sour, sour cherries, very sharp biting flavor. The palate is sour and crisp. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Bottle at home. "Clear" dusty amber - white head. Arome: Acid, light sourness, light vinegar, barnyard. Taste: Barnyard, gooseberries, light fruity, light wood, light horsey, acid, sourness, light sweetness, white sugar. Very dry finish. Nice !!

Bottle. Pours champagne color with a champagne like fizzy white head. Aroma is tart, sour, grainy, yeasty, citric, tannin. Flavor is applo, tart cherry, brett yeast, pale malts, oak. Palate is medium to light bodied, medium to high carbonation, finishes super tart, and ultra dry. Fantastic.

Bottled. Pale w/ yeast clumps, fiizzy. Very interesting nose follow by a very off putting fucked up "who pissed beer into my" champagne flavor. Palate had some lingers of that cool foreign nose... but this beers really not for me.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2008 Pours orange with large dense light beige head. The aroma is tart, sour, grainy, funky, citric, tannin and with wild yeast - lots going on here. Light crisp body with light stinging sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of graininess with a heavy sour kick, lots of yeast and intensified lemon aspects. The finish has some oak added in. There is a lot of crazy complexity going on and I’m not sure how to really describe it, but I do know I give this beer an enthusiastic Thumbs Up . (8/3/8/3/17 - 3.9)
Rerate notes - Let this get much warmer than initial notes and the flavors opened up a lot with a cheese-like mustiness and horseblanket. The palate was much softer with gentle soft carbonation. The flavors from the initial notes were still there, but when blended with the new aspect it increases the complexity and enjoyability a lot. A great gueuze.

Clear golden-yellow color with a bubbly head that fades away quickly. Insanely funky, musty aroma with some woodiness, a light sourness, and a mysterious "bad but good" sort of thing. Flavors were mouthwateringly sour, musty, fruity, woody, and a bit cheesy. Highly carbonated and fizzy, but soft and champagne-like mouthfeel. Very, very dry finish. Great stuff, really enjoyable. I need more.

Clear yellow color, with a few fine bubbles. Aroma is complex, acidic.. almost like green apples. Incredible, funky flavors. Crisp, dry finish. Very full bodied. Outstanding.

Rich grainy/sour aroma. The balance of sour and grain is just right. Not too tart.

Sweet intensely earthy aroma. Sweet and sour flavor that ends with sour yeast. While gueuze is not my favorite style, this is quite tasty.

Hazy golden colour with a white head. Tart fruity aroma with dusty notes. Flavor has a nice blend of sweet and tart notes with a light dusty finish.
