0,75l bottle at home. Vintage 2014. BB 27.03.2034. As Oud Beersel Oude Kriek Vieille. quite dark brown color, big pink head. smells nutty, marzipan, cherries, some funk, wood, green apples, grassy, very nice smell. medium body, quite bubbly carbonation, bubbly mouthfeel. tastes nutty, marzipan, light funk, lightly sour, grassy, light cherries, green apples, nice fruit notes, some wood. finishes rather dry and lightly sour with notes of wood, green apples and some grassy notes. quite good one, carbonation is quite strong on this one (which also destracts from the fruits), overall still very nice beer.

37,5cl bottle @Pulapka Gdansk

Aroma: cherries, red fruit, a distinctive lambic sourness. Also very nice funk - barnyard and horse banket, and a slight touch of vinegar.

Looks: hazy dark red with reddish head.

Taste: sour cherries are there but not dominating because the crisp sourness is what is playing the main part here. Very fruity with a short dry finish

Feel: rather thin body

Overall: A solid kriek! Love the fact that while very sour it is not dominated by cherry stone character.

Droogbittere afdronk. Niet overtuigd van deze. M: Niet echt volmondig bier met stevige carbonatie.

Bottle at a brewery. Slightly empty, thin feeling compared to other krieks we have had here. Still good and tasty but lacking more complexity.

Bottle from Hopology, Nottingham. Red to purplish colour with a pink head. Aroma is only lightly cherry. Taste is sour with just a hint of a sweet finish, Spritzy.

Bottle - pours deep red, with a short lived red head. Aroma of sour cherries. Definitely in the sour beer class. Taste is cherries, but the overpowering dominant flavour is sour sour sour. IMHO I love cherries, evennsour cherries, but there is ALWAYS a hint of sweetness in cherries, here there is none, and the beer suffers because of it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2016 Aroma: Funky, horse blanket, wild cherry, little hint of almond. Appearance: Hazy dark red, really nice and long-lasting foam, nothing to complain. Taste: True Oude Gueuze starts here, lots of cherries, not much sweetness, very sour, still noticeable funky smell, finish kinda bitter and tart with warm feeling. Overall: really decent example of Oude Kriek, still not top-notch, but enjoyable

Bottle from wine seller, Compton. Dark garnet beer with small pinkish head that forms puddles on the surface. Lightly carbonated. Aroma is dark cherry and a little wood. Not as rich in the aroma as I was hoping. Taste is a little more muted than others of this style. Some dark cherries, light sourness, a little funk and a build up of tart cherry drops in the finish. This one is a beer that warms to you. Excellent.
