COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Oud Beersel Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Oud Beersel Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

Dorée voilée, pétillance moyenne avec bulles fines, col moyen persistant. Plutôt boisée, trop peu d’acidité, légère amertume houblonnée, vineuse, petite astringence, un rien citronnée. Autre chose que la gueuze Belle-Bue!

Keg at CBC Brixton. Orange/gold, flat and hazy. Light barnyard in the aroma with mothballs and citrus peel. Sweet/sour taste with a dry, dry finish. Champagne vinegar and clementine in the aftertaste. Magic.

2018-01-11. Lightly hazy golden body, small off-white head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly odd. Barnyard funk with allusions to bubblegum. Flavour is lightly acidic, moderate barnyard funk, a touch dilute around the edges. Average bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Interesting. 7/3-4/7/3/16 On tap at Bar Hop as Oude Lambiek Vieux , Toronto.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Hazy golden pour. Smell is cheesy funky a good woody lambic smell, gentle, not to acidic. Taste is same, sour and funky in the aftertaste but light up front, smooth, can feel the acidity in the palate, very nice luxuries.

Wow this was interesting on tap at Bar Hop. Almost offensive at first with 'herbal; homeless' aromas, either DMS pea smell or sleeping-in-my-clothes-for-a-week smell. Uric. Taste is nicely tart and funky with odd DMA flop sweaty funk smell. Ashy and vinous, it gets better over the sipping. Lemony with some herbal bitterness, rewardingly strange.

Draft at Pigalle. Pours nice cloudy golden-orange, just a bit of foam on top. Total barnyard nose, autumn harvest, fermenting apple juice, horse blanket. Super nice. Acidity is there bit not too sharp. Taste is smooth, some acidity there, light chalk and lots of funk. I do like the nose better though. Still enjoying this. Quite clear dry apple skin bitterness in the finish. Tasty.

Draft. This is a really nice one here. Just a touch of candylike malt sweetness, hay and barnyard, lemon, perfect lambic flavors.
