Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Oud Beersel Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Oud Beersel Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

EddyBeer1 (1058) - Brussels, - SEP 7, 2013
Dorée voilée, pétillance moyenne avec bulles fines, col moyen persistant. Plutôt boisée, trop peu d’acidité, légère amertume houblonnée, vineuse, petite astringence, un rien citronnée. Autre chose que la gueuze Belle-Bue!

Taste: Very sour, leather, medium sweet.

MartyW (278) - DENMARK - MAY 25, 2017
Tap. Clear golden orange with no head. Aroma is sour with slight funk and some metallic notes(?). Earthy and sour with some vinegar notes. Slight notes of fruit. Not a good lambic for a lambic lover like myself.

Brew_Cat (138) - Athens, GREECE - MAY 22, 2017
On tap @Bibere House of Beer (Piraeus), few months ago paired with wild boar sausage. Pours clear yellow with tiny white head that diminishes immediately after pouring. Light body, thin texture, soft carbonation, light bitter-sour finish. Toast malts, bread, soft sweetness. At times I got some sharpness on the tongue, and tastes that resembled white wine, green apples, cider or sour summer fruits. Very interesting, and complex. As we hardly ever get the chance to have a pint of sours in Greece, I’m really happy that I tasted this one.

Habanero (4678) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2017
Tap. Slightly hazy golden body with a small, white head. Aroma of spice, funk, a little barnyard and notes of citrus. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and slightly tart. Light bodied, watery texture to oily texture and average carbonation. A very nice Sour. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
