This bottle might be slightly baked. It is about 35 degrees everyday here so perhaps it cooked a bit in the store. Slightly sour in the nose, a bit of oak/butter, but not much else. Mouthfeel is thin. A bit of a splurger out of the bottle. Taste is acidic and not terribly changing. One-sided for a gueuze. 37.5cl

Bottle. Golden colour with a white head with medium lasting. Aroma is very fruity, acidic and light woody. Flavor has very acidic notes, with some citrus and yeast hints, wood and old barrel sensation in the mouth and very fruity. The final is slightly bittery and acidic with good presence.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Bottle: Velvety amber, cloudy with a thick off white head that settles fast to a film. Aroma is funky ass barnyard, old musty cork, dirty sweat socks, sour apples, lemon rinds, and biting acidity. So sour and so funky. Taste is impossibly sour. Puckering lemon drops, pear and apple, musty, wet hay. Incredible sourness without too much acidity. Funky, dry finish with wet hay and woody cork. Lots more oak in the finish. Crisp, dry mouth feel with a thin and wispy body. Damn good. Wish I had a case of this stuff. Relatively cheap for the style but just as tasty as some of the "greats". Some bottles have been amazing.

The first new gueuze in many years, I’m glad this style is getting more popular again. This beer is another magnificant example of this great style. Intense sour and a true feast for the senses. You can truly imagine the wild yeast barnyard when you sip from this beer.

Bottle
Aroma: Nice tart fruit aroma
Appearance: Slightly cloudy straw color with short lasting white bubbly head
Taste: Green apples, tart, some slight bitter undertones and a bit of funkyness. There is a subtle pilsener bitterness that kicks in mid-taste and in the finish
Palate: Tartness is intense, and the mouthfeel is quite drying.
Overall: Really enjoyable, fairly complex, and solid all around.
