3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled thanks to Alice and Jan. Hazy golden pour, medium frothy white head. Nice soft geuze aroma, wheat, hay, barnyard, horseblanket, soft tartness. But all quite soft and not really harsh like some other geuzes. Soft sourness in taste. Easy to drink and well balanced geuze.

Bottle shared by pmoney. 2010/2011 bottle. Served in a FFF Teku.
A: Pours slightly hazy orange color with a thin white ring forming on the pour. It recedes slowly leaving behind some splotchy lace.
S: A ton of funk is present with a nice light lactic underbody. Mild acidic with some lemon peel notes. Lemon grass with a light oaky body.
T: Lactic with some tart green apple. Nice bit of funk to this guy with some oaky notes as well as some vanilla. Lemon zing.
M: Light bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Very easy drinking with no realy pucker.
O: Very delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed this one and will definitely be setting some aside for storage.

2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
2010-2011 vintage. white head that evaporates quickly. hazy golden color. Smells like a honeyed apple cider Beck’s. Very acidic. Tastes like fermented granny smith apples. Nots sweet at all. Nice yeasty and mineral flavors in the mix. Dry finish. I’ve had all these same flavors out of mediocre kombucha. To be fair, this is my first time trying this style.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
37.5cl Bottle from De Hopduvel, Gent, at 6.4% ABV, 2010-2011, this is the blend of 1,2 and 3 year old lambic. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma is acidic, some green apples, loads of nice funk, lemony sourness, hint of acetone, gets more acidic when it warms. Smells really nice. Flavour is light sweet, light malty and floral, quite acidic, acetone, funk, tartness, sourness, a little quinine bitterness, lemons. Nice body for a gueuze, suitable carbonation. A gueuze I thoroughly enjoyed, AND actually the first I finished a whole bottle of by myself. I need to check my temperature I think..

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rating 100! Bottle from 2010/2011. Pours a large creamy white head that mostly lasts. Body is a bit hazy, sparkles are visible. Colour is yellow/orange.
Aroma contains light malts (light bread, grain), light hops (mostly lemon), light yeasts (dough, soap), some white wine, pepper and most of all sour fruits (apple, kiwi, lemon, orange, cherry).
Flavor is strong acidic and tart all the way, which is overwhelming at first. After some sips you get used to it and then also some sweetness and bitterness can be tasted. The finish is astringent, tart.
Body is medium, with creamy texture and lively carbonation.
After a while the acidity is less overwhelming so the complexity and subtlety of flavors and aroma's get a chance. This is a very good beer but you have to be in the mood for it. I guess I wasn't really, so I didn't enjoy it fully. It deserves a repeat sometime later.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This starts off with a huge sour aroma, green apples, lemon, and a touch of funk. It pours a hazy light amber, with a smaller white head then most of the other gueuzes I’ve had. The tartness is there, but mellowed, with a touch of sweet apples coming through in the finish. Light on the palate, and refreshing on a warm spring day.

Starts sour, sour, sour. Brett, acidity, and funky leather. Dry, tasty gueuze that I could drink all day. Funky, sour, tasty, and refreshing. Sublime.
