Rating #4,100. From notes. Enjoyed at a tasting with ebone1988 and Gus on December 10. 375 mL bottle, 2016/2017 blend. The pour is a darker coppery orange color with a thick cap of off white head that falls down slowly with a couple spots of lace as it recedes to a thin ring. The aroma is nice. There is a great funkiness up front before it quickly turns to a tart sourness. It’s balanced and not biased in either direction. This is great. It’s got the funky classic that I like from Cantillon with the beautiful tart sourness from Drie Fonteinen. Light lemongrass and citrus tartness. The flavor matches. There is a light funkiness and a hint of barnyard that I do enjoy in the mix. The lemon and citrus come through nicely, and there is a hint of metallic on the finish. The mouth feel is clean and crisp with a brighter carbonation and a lingeringly funky barnyard and a kiss of sourness on the finish. There is a bit of dry oak that adds in late. I like this one a bit. 8 4 7 4 15

Bottle at the Wine-Boutique, Felixstowe. Pours hazy golden bronze with a small lasting white head. Aroma of sour fruit, salted caramel, yeast, mandarin, lemon and grapefruit. Light sweetness, medium bitterness, towards heavy tart sourness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Very good.

Funky. Very funky. I get notes of wet hay and barnyard/horse blanket. This is a good thing. Reasonably tart as well. Dry. Good beer.

Bottle shared at tasting session. It had that typical brett note, that i really love and can only compare to cocounut. Lovely and easygoing.

Flaska från SB. Vintage 2016/17. Guldfärgad, lätt disig med vitt skum. Riktigt fin, pigg och krispig i doften med toner av socker, gröna äpplen, päron, gröna druvor, halm, stall. Fin torr, stram kropp. Smak samma som doften. Ruskigt krispig med fin, ren syra. Oerhört fräsch och riktigt törstsläckare. Wow!

Emelie (236) - Örebro, SWEDEN - DEC 17, 2017

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 Flaske. Smagt op mod Vat79 fra Boon. Funky aroma. Popcorn. Toast. Stald. Citrus. Sur men også frisk på tungen. Halvflad, ikke som fx Cuveé René. Tør afrunding med masser af citrus.

ebone1988 (2237) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - DEC 10, 2017
Bottle shared with koleminer20 and Gus. Aroma is funk, tart, barnyard, straw, some wheat, very nice. Appearance is golden amber, white head, slightly hazy. Taste is perfectly blended, tart funk, wheat, barnyard, sour, excellent. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, funky barnyard tart aftertaste. Overall, super fucking solid Gueuze.
