Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy yellow pour with bright white head, aroma brought some tart lemon, biscuit, bread, some spice, hints of earthy tones, slight veggie and dms again. Taste is the veggie and dms, but its got a bit more counterbalance with some tart fruity notes, biscuit and bread, finishing sweet and slightly tart. On tap at the brewery. Pour is hazy lemon juice with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Lemon peel, citrus, white wine vinegar, biscuit, light butter, and green apples in the aroma. Taste is tart lemon peel, biscuit, tart apples, and citric acid. Light body with medium carbonation. Not bad and didn’t have a foul smell that is ever present in a lot of their beers. I don’t really think it is a saison, but at least I can drink it, somewhat. notalush (5922) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Tap at OMF - tastes like they took their saison and dumped some powdered malic acid into it - really, that’s pretty much what it tastes like - smells and tastes kind of sweaty and lightly funky, though, but not in the good way - more like the feet kind of way - some pineapple - finish of straight up acidity (acetic acid/white vinegar) - ick - I’ve been having some shitty saisons lately. cubs (10714) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 2, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2012 Tap @ Old Mutual Friend. I guess this is their gross Saison with some Tart Extract added. Nice. Pours a hazy yellow appearance with a small white head. Tangy pineapple, passionfruity, light veggie aroma. Tart, juicy yet watery, lemon, straw, light veggie, a touch buttery flavor. The tartness does cover the flaws a bit, but still quite poor.
