Opaque very dark brown color, massive fluffy brown head, almost ice cream cone. Nice aroma of vanilla, truffles. Taste has vanilla, malted milk balls. Hi carbonation interferes with the mouthfeel a bit - pretty amazing if it’s barrel aged beer (but it isn’t, is it?). bytemesis (9510) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 28, 2015
Bottle. Pours clear deep mahogany, medium tan head, nice residual and lacing. Aroma is cocoa, molasses, oak, anise. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, roasty, cocoa, molasses, anise, some bourbon, but it is an accent. Hint of oaky tannins. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Not a bad drinker. dchester (34) - - JAN 29, 2015
Chocolate nose coffee taste with lingering hazelnutty flavor finishes slightly bitter a well done stout. Fatehunter (2641) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - OCT 22, 2014
Pours a finger of tan head on a brown body.
The aroma is wood, roasted malt and chocolate.
The taste is coffee bitterness with roasted malt sweet to balance it out.
The texture is thicker with low carbonation.
It’s a nice balanced stout. GenDV138 (7899) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - JUL 5, 2014
