bottle, mowbeers 30th beerday celebration, thanks to baerwaldt for bringing this from paris. a big surprise just how good this was - hazy golden with a persistent head; fresh and spritzy; loads of grapefruit in the aroma and coming through in the tangy bitterness.

In short: A typical, clean, dry, refreshing, citrusy west-coast American Pale Ale brewed in France!
How: Bottle (750ml?), fresh, a few weeks after purchase in France, shared by friend.
The look: Cloudy orange body topped by a small off-white head.
In long: Nose is clean typical APA, very citrusy, a bit grassy. Taste is equally crisp and clean. A lean body that is not watery. Low-profile crackery crisp malts that provide backbone and not much in the flavors department. Refreshing citrusy hops with a lemony tartness. An overall hop profile that is refreshing, bright and not resinous. A mild dry grassy sensation. Overall quite dry. Very refreshing. Exactly what I expect from a quality thirst West-Coast APA except this one is brewed in France. Good beer. So, this is an typical American Pale Ale brewed in France, looks like the French have surrendered to the American craft beer revolution, these guys will surrender to just about anything.

From tap at La Fine Mousse. Pours cloudy to clear orange with a small white head. Aroma is smooth fruity, crisp hoppy and light peachy. Solid carbonation. Peachy and grapefruity. Mixed sweet and citric. Likley a sweet impression. Lingering fruity and crisp hoppy finish.

Amber, to red even, body and large stable head. Looking, well, spotless. Rich hop presence. Of the herbal, piney kind, not necessarily crisp or fresh. Pleasant moderate bitterness. Very clean yeast so thats good. But it misses a malty fullness, despite the promising looks. Somehow though it doesnt really shine. Too filtered? (33cl bottle from La Cave Bulles)

Draught at La Fine Mousse, Paris
Cloudy amber color, without much head. Very nice aroma of fruity hops, yellow stone fruits, light mango, grassfields. The body is well structured, there is a good malt flavor, with a light crispness in the background, it gets drier in the end, and it has a high bitterness level, still with some interesting hop note. There are traces of yeast.
Pleasant, still a bit rough.
